Beyonder, 16 Mar 2025you are correct and im amazed that samsung is doing same st... moreIt's not a stupid decision. It's a product strategy.
Let's take India for example. There are a ton of Chinese competitors there. Obviously Samsung has to compete spec by spec at retail level.
Then take more developed countries where not only there aren't that many Chinese competitors, people who are concerned about RAM would've bought the Galaxy S25 anyway.

Just looking at this lineup in a vacuum, the A26 (with E1380) is the best bang for the buck imo. And it's obvious with the way Samsung only focusing the A36 and A56 on their marketing. Why advertise the cheaper phone that has practically similar performance as the more expensive phones?
On the other end, it would be interesting to see how the E1580 performs.
The A36 in a vacuum is okay. It's just that it's not as a good of an upgrade over the previous A35.
As usual, Samsung A series remains to be the default to-go phone choice for most consumers, especially those with older phones. Personally, none of these interest me as they are just bulky phones. 78mm in width are not comfortable to hold. This is why I'm leaning towards Vivo now. At least they're still trying to make midrange phones that is sleeker and ligther to hold.

The A series is bad in ram/memory, camera, and most importantly in physical quality Shouldn't it be strictly budget priced?

A26 looks cheap and A36 price is too high for its specs. Bought an A56 12/256GB for 400 euros with a promotion at launch. Cannot get a better phone for the price. Love it

The A26 offers everything that the A36 does except stereo speakers and the better selfie and larger main camera. For 25% cheaper than the A36, that's not bad. Removing stereo speakers was a stupid decision though.

Both Samsung & Apple gradually stripped out the 3.5mm headphone jack and the microSD slot. Who asked for that? They still haven’t added a telephoto camera, a higher-end chipset with more RAM, still using the old battery instead of the new battery tech, and the phones are overvalued & overpriced. They simply make minor tweaks to their phones, throw in a slick marketing campaign, and boom! They've convinced most consumers that the new phones are the latest & greatest since sliced bread, which is blatantly false in my opinion. Most consumers have stood by and tolerated this BS, but not me. Until they start making innovative phones, with the specs that I want, and at an affordable price, I'll buy from the alternative, innovative brands.
