as much as i hate windows it at least lasts a long time, just look at windows 10, it did last 10 years and your average android/ios is replaced every year and in the case that was the last year you got "platform updates" you will have "security updates" for what? an extra year?
this should change, specially now that "platform updates" have minor/hard to notice changes
companies will take pride on how green and ecofriendly they are but they noticeably design software to be more and more bloated so it runs slower and makes you think of getting a new device and to be insecure as soon as you arent meant to recieve updates

Samsung management won't suddenly come to the developers and ask them to throw away their stuff because a new version is out. They won't say they are not getting paid because they are working on older version.
They get paid for working on 15 this year and again for 16 next year.

Bad news for Samsung developers. Imagine sitting the whole day and make Android 15 work on S24 Ultra and then reading this news about android 16. Samsung developers can jump out of Window
