    And incredibly easy to break.

Look at those 2018 bezels in a phone.

Great device. But these big bezels are crazy.

        Very scratch resistant.
I'm very happy with this choice.

LoneOwl, 19 Mar 2025Yeah best deal.... -1 camera -60hz screen -more expens... moreAt least 16e has a flagship CPU and compact size and thickness. 9a is just a generic 6.x inch phablet 8.5mm thick and budget design. Only thing premium is the price

David 040882, 19 Mar 2025I think we can all agree that the 9a isn't a bad phone... moreIt's great in the US market though, which is obviously a Google focus. A lot of the competitor models overseas don't make it over so this could certainly win a lot of people over. I may go back to Pixel again once the 10/10a come out. Can't wait to see them pair a power efficient TSMC CPU with MTK modem and large battery....rather than Exynos based chip/modem combo. I'd prefer all Snapdragon, but that's obviously not happening anytime soon.

Should have really used gnj for main cam and jn1 for ultrawide and front cam

I think the leaks were just so big that Google decides to announce it early.

David 040882, 19 Mar 2025I think we can all agree that the 9a isn't a bad phone... moreUpon release no doubt Google will offer decent trade in values and also freebies, Google TV Streamer is rumoured to be one of them, meaning nobody is really paying €499/£499 in Europe/the UK.

From the big players I guess it's this or Samsung A56/F24SE for your money. If you want a smaller device this the only option from the Android big players at this price.

1989, 19 Mar 2025Iphone 16e looks like the best deal ever compared to this.Yeah best deal....

                          -1 camera
                          -60hz screen
                          -more expensive,especially in upgrading storage
                          -huge notch

Even pixel 9a looks like a steal compared to Iphone 16e.

Budget phone from Umrica, comes with Gorilla glass 3 in 2025

                              ugly soap

Even Google has managed to put a larger battery than the S25 Ultra's, into a much smaller device than the S Ultra line, that's said GG3 is unacceptable even at this price.

"It comes with 8GB of memory as standard and a choice of 128GB.."

                                Such version shouldn't even exist.

"Budget" model or not, those bezels are completely unacceptable for the mid 2020s. You can get phones for half this asking price with better.

Does it have the same modem as it's more expensive counterparts (the Exynos modem 5400 iirc) or is it an older one?

Aierlan, 19 Mar 2025Yeah, but that's always the way with every new launch.... moreYeah, that's basically my point .

David 040882, 19 Mar 2025Well, maybe not necessarily at launch prices, but you sure ... moreYeah, but that's always the way with every new launch. There are always better value deals on older models that are already on discount. This phone will also be on discount after a while at least at certain times. New phones are almost never the best value especially in the western market but even in China that's also the case. If value is a priority then you should almost never consider a newly launched phone (unless they have some special launch deal with freebies you actually want)
