No offense, but the term "quad-curved" is simply tone-deaf, given that the display itself doesn't have a curved interior. I have a feeling that those marketing interns are basically surviving off of free versions of ChatGPT to rely on marketing jargon.

They just lover to come up with sophisticated terms and words for stuff that is actually very simple to name. Creating expectations it is called. And, indeed, it's much more comfortable for your palms.

This trend cannot phase out soon enough.
Screw Yotaphone for starting it and screw Samsung for making it popular.

It's just that the corners are subtler without the display being folded, unlike tapered edges. And as someone who owns a phone with a "quad-curved" front and tapered back edges, I can confirm that they make the phone a tad pleasant to hold, without digging into your palms.

MindeDevill, 21 Mar 2025WHY!!!!! Only curved display, people liked also flat ones, ... moreIf you desperately need flat displays, you can consider global Vivo phones instead with the same software. Or maybe other BBK brands, HMD and Transsion, depending on your tastes.

I wish Motorola would look at user comments like Nothing and take heed that they would sell more if they had a flat screen or a new flat screen series like an X series.

I do like the curved edge screens but I prefer quad-curved screens (with and equally quad-curved back side). That's to me the sum of comfort. Agreed, sometimes curved screens with very thin middle-frames can feel somewhat sharp in your hand palm. However, if the frame is designed as such then I don't mind fully flat screens but that would make the device wider and visually having larger bezels while it actually isn't. Point is flat screens and back with flat frames is certainly not comfortable. Lately the use of curved edge screens became a craze amongst mid-range devices, especially Asian ones. Where in the old days such screens where reserved to premium and upper mid-range devices it is now available and affordable for devices in the lower mid-range offerings. Motorola has offerings with flat and curved screens so I don't really see an issue. Ok, true, the flat ones are more present in the lower range of their offerings while all the "better" ones have curved units which can indeed limit the amount of interested customers.

I held my friend's Edge 50 Fusion and it feels more comfortable to hold in hand than my edge 50 neo with flat screen. I don't understand the hate boner for curved screen. In every phone news article with curved screen people hate on it.

Curved displays should be tjings of past, if they are able to curve the display then they should've gone for flat screen with uniform bezels (or) a micro quadcurved screen

MakeMotoBetterAgain, 20 Mar 2025curved screens are fine, samsung had it in their ultra'... moreA curved screen is pretty nice if it's a very subtle curve to the point where it's practically flat (S23U). Ergonomics aren't that good though, so a curved screen like the Motorola's would arguably feel better in the hand but light reflects off the sides and looks worse when viewing certain media/content at times

It IS cheap: Cheap to repair if it cracks---which is less likely, because a force impulse isn't concentrated as it would be on a curved edge.
