After so many sanctions i can understand a little price increase to cover all expenses Huawei have.
About better or worse chips benchmark numbers are just numbers.
To run faebook or tik tok by 0,02 seconds faster on SD 8 gen Elite compared to best Huawei CPU at the moment i really dont see a difference here.
Said power you will need maybe for gaming something like latest Assassins creed, diablo immortal, genshin impact, hinkai star rail etc.
For many else casual apps this CPU is equally fast as best Snapdragon currently on the market.
You can say its overpriced but after so many sanctions i can understand little bit price increase from Huawei.
Still you get device worth every penny.

        In china chinese brands like Huawei or Xiaomi sells lot better than apple.
        In many else countries Xiaomi sells lot better than Apple.
        If chinese brands will be available in every country on every market your desirable apple can go nuts because those chinese for half the money gives 1000% better specced devices.
        Like anyone would do buy a 60 Hz screen phone for 1300 mean 16 plus or a single camera phone with laughable storage, screen, battery cpu and gpu for 700 means 16e.No thanks.

        You can make promo for your apple brand as long as you want but they failing. TZHey did not innovate at all at least EU and their laws helps apple to step out from cave of a dark age.

            The smarter mainland Chinese folks are all using iPhones, or at the very least a Xiaomi.

            Huawei is a dead brand. The sanctions on it will escalate, and deservingly so.

                While Huawei is lagging behind now in terms of chipset and with the lack of baked-in GMS, they're pushing it in form factor and camera hardware.

                  having same or equal power like SD 8 gen Elite would make Huawei phones best camera phones of the decade and no other android phone would be even close to Huawei.
                  Just a simple example.
                  Same gies for endurance rating and many else where Huawei excells among the competition.

I don't know what you are on to say they are still as good as the rest. Camera performance is still good, but behind in things like resolution\ frame rate offered, the other things you mention don't even have anything to do with the chip. And while I do agree that benchmarks are only partially helpful, they paint a clear picture. For day to day use even midrange chips perform well. Go beyond that and the flagships of other brands completely outpace the Huawei ones.

                              other than that, there many alternative phone to choose
                              there is a reason why mediatek is great, immortalis-G925 is around 2x kirin maleoon920 performance

                                They've have catching up to do. Maybe in 5-6 years, their socs will be comparable to premium snapdragon ones. Until then, could you Honor pretty please copy this design and release an Android variant 🤞🤞

In all but gpu the 9020 surpasses the g4 already specially in ufs speed it is closer to Sd flagship than to tensor. By the time next gen kirin comes around it will be no surprised if it completely overshadows tensor g5. I think as an achievement with the given limitations, that deserves more credit than calling it 5 generations behind

                                      Benchmark numbers are one thing but real llife experience is something else.
                                      Even with worse benchmark numbers they offer best camera phones, perfect and stable OS and unmatched quality.
