The A36 gets several worthy upgrades over its predecessor including a brighter display, a Snapdragon chipset and 45W charging.

I never actually look at that at all, if I see notifications I swipe down to check all what I have. To me 1 or 3 or 5 is not important at all with Samsung or Xiaomi or vivo or motorola. Second, always on display is never on with any of my phones, even on samsung is turned off, only one tap to wake is on on all of my phones. To me it is a waste of battery and display without reason all night to be on display or in my pocket. If I want to see notifications or clock or anything else I just tap the screen once. Battery optimisation and esp health is not on the Samsung side. I have xiaomi mi 10t who's 5 years old thst I gave to my dad with an original battery that still works and can do 6-7h screen on time and battery health is at 83%. My 3 Samsung's (2 midrange a52, a52s and one flagship s10e thwt I like and didnt sell) are not that good, after only 2 years all 3 need new batteries, I changed on my s10e two times in 5 years. Very slow charging in all 3, none of them can charge under 1h while that Xiaomi with 5 year old battery and over 1500 cycles still can charge in 45 min. And exynos is very bad to battery and optimisation. 100% charged and left it on table, in the morning after 6h if standing on the table over night its on 89%, all my Xiaomi phones and even vivo and vivo uses only 2 to 3%. The same was with s22 that I sold after a year because it's crazy to charge it 2 times a day. Exynos is horrible with batteries and optimisation, heats up with just normal browsing or scrolling through media. When you charge it when it's summer (if ac is not on) and just cuts off charging or slows down so much that it needs like 4h to charge because it heats up to 41°c with wire, wireless is even worse, it's with all Samsung phones that I have had. Vivo and xiaomi don't have that problem, they heat up but charge normally and don't cut off or slow down to a point where it takes 10 min to charge 3%. And 3 Xiaomi are 5,3,2 years old and forth is 1 month old. My experience with samsung phones is not that great and all of them are exynos, only midrange are Snapdragon and still not that good with batteries if you compare it to vivo or Xiaomi midrange that I have.

Cos I just switched from samsung after... moreexample: on samsung i have 6 notification icons in the status bar, hyperos only 3, in some devices only one!!!! if xiaomi decide to downgrade from 3 to 1 in a future upgrade, you can't do nothing for come back. xiaomi haven't a real always on display, in the midrange can stay on only 10 seconds, in high range turn off after 5 minutes in total darkness. battery optimization is much more developed on samsung for preserve the health of cells. wearable of samsung are way much more developed for health control and if you use samsung watches on xiaomi devices you have some limitation. of course samsung isn't perfect, but i understand why they cost more at same hardware

Cos I just switched from samsung after 2 years of using samsung phone, watch etc and one ui has its own bugs and something that missing, not done righ, something good etc. There is something good in oneui but something missing but other ui like hyper that's done much better things and has that something a bit better. People was saying the same thing about ios and I was using iPhone and apple watch macbook etc for almost 3 years and I switched back to Android. Now I'm on hyper os and Xiaomi products like watch, phone, ac, scooter etc, and we will see for how long. Againg its just in your mind if you're lock to or on something, its just your choice and not cos something is wow, its not wow at all oneui or ios, esp if you're IT like me for 25 years, and like to try new stuff and having something better if you can...

          eveeeve, 23 Mar 2025Gotta empty out Samsung manufactured Snapdragon SOCs in the... moreI doubt that's the case. Samsung foundry is separate from Samsung mobile. This is Qualcomm's doing. Remember that the SD8 Elite is very pricey. I'm sure Qualcomm made a deal with Samsung for them to use some of those SD6 SoCs, if they want to get somewhat better deal for the SD8 Elite. And Samsung was in a pinch because Exynos 2500 had yield issue.

                    So Samsung wants to eat entire profit. If they use 6gen 4, some portion of profit goes to TSMC.

                    Samsung is profit oriented.

                      Would be nice if Samsung gave this something like SD 6 Gen 4 or something better than that..

                        yes to the extinction of A series 🤝

                          This phone now and a56 is only for fans of samsungs that uses only samsung products (like apple fans), or someone that is new in smartphones and thry want samsung or apple to start with, or elders. Who's gonna go from other brands that has bigger battery, better performance, less heat, better battery life, almost triple the speed of charging and most of them has at least double the speed, have screen protector and bumper out of the box, and list goes on and on. And don't tell me about 7 years of os updates cos samsung is always late with updates a lot. I'm not one of those people that sticks to one brand no mater what, I tried almost all known global brands (and some brands that never heard of) in my 25 years in phones and tech. And that is my opinion and probably the most people that are not stick to one brand. When they had 3.5mm jack, sd card, that was somehow trade for slow charging, boring design, smaller batteries, etc. But now they take that away so this is really nothing special to go for, only for fans and elders who need just phone and ofc they or family members want an apple or samsung but not spending that much money.

                            This is how you know Samsung isn't paying anyone. GSMArena didn't get the A36 or the A56 ages. Even the latter's review was very late.

                            Meawhile for Xiaomi/Poco/Redmi reviews and impressions get posted the minute the company announces their new phones. 😂

                                    Before anyone starts defending Exynos by saying "Exynos is getting better nowadays.", no it's not, at least in me and my friend's experience. I'm using A55, and he uses S24 FE. Both Exynos 1480 and 2400e heats up and throttle pretty fast 15 minutes after light gaming.
