Google Pixel 10's GPU might come courtesy of Imagination

22 March 2025
Also, Xiaomi could be making a custom chip with an Imagination GPU of its own.

PC: The difference between the first and the rest is pretty noticeable, but as for the rest, all of them are pretty matched. The only issue is Intel's compatibility.

      nVIDIA

      Apple
      Intel

Mobile: Here the difference is more noticeable. The first 2 has pretty big advatage against the rest, however AMD manages to keep the pace thanks to the emulation. Mali is the 4th but because has more compatibility than Imagination.
      Adreno - Apple

Anonymous, 23 Mar 2025https://www.androidauthority.com/pixel-broke-new-phone-3513... moreI have been using the pixel 4, 5, 6 and now the 8. Currently waiting for the 10 now and never had anything break down. Besides the devices getting a bit warmer than I would like during gaming and the FPS not being the best I luckily haven't experienced anything.
Always got the normal model and it is always enough for me spec and price wise.

I have only have really positive experiences with the recent pixel devices.
The only phone which was better for me was the huawei mate series or the old OP+ phones.
But no phone is perfect so we just get something which fits us most :)

For me, so long as the chipset/modem are efficient I'm happy. MTK modem is a nice upgrade over Exynos modems. As for CPU performance, it should be fine for me. I'm using SD8G2 still and have zero complaints. If you're someone who's looking for high performance gaming or emulation, obviously look elsewhere but I have better ways to game anyway.

erotavlas, 24 Mar 2025hang on, does this mean the gpu is imaginary? 😁Yeah it was so long? remember around 2010-2014 I think, those PowerVR gpus are made by Imagination

As someone who has had pixels gen 1, 2, 6,7. The os and camera experience is one of the best and the fact that you get the latest update is great. But, quality and performance not so much, my 7 pro XL screen flickered it's self to death after 2 years. I have flipped between Samsung, Apple and Google and normally use 2 phones at the same time, one for my business and the other for personal. None are the perfect phones but they each have their positives. I will probably buy the pixel 10 or fold now that there's 7 years of os updates. For gaming, I've moved to a Lenovo handheld and I don't think I'll ever go back to mobile phone gaming. But that doesn't excuse Google charging premium prices for lower performance.

Be great if they can at least match SD 8 Gen 2 or D9200 Performance at least, ideally 8 Gen 3 or 9300+ to ease the digestion of the flagship++++ prices they charge for their nowhere near flagship performance.

Random anon: Yeah, because the flagship experience is entirely dictated by Geekbench results 🤡
That's why the first iPhones with theoretically far inferior hardware than their Android counterparts would still smoke them.

Wait for the YouTubers who bought the phone with their own money to review it. 2. Look at tech forums where real users share their experiences with the phone. 3. Wait at least 3 months so you don't buy units that come with problems! And I'll test it myself and not be influenced by a program that measures performance in a flat way, not like a human being would measure it every day.

I am an advanced phone user and you see some pixels with tensor! and my only complaint was always the thermals and battery life! For other tasks the phone was going at 100* all the time... now I have an s23 ultra and guess what? I feel the same, except for the GPU for gaming, that's where Google should put more effort, because they know that there is a large audience that uses demanding games on phones and emulators

Mali is bad compare to Adreno, but powervr is worse than even Mali, some Dimensity use powervr, 930 if am not mistaken and that soc have worse compability compare to other Dimensities.

So it's not just about perfomance, but efficient, drivers, features etc.
