New image shows how slim the Apple iPhone 17 Air is compared to the iPhone 17 Pro

I'm plenty aware that thinner phones exist. the point is that Samsung is trying to outdo Apple by copying them while still coming out worse. as for innovation, ultra thin devices are somewhat innovative, but they don't really serve a purpose or fix any problem that exists. It's a gimmick, but it is innovation. Either way, samsung used to be competitive, but now they're being lazy that theyre being outclassed by apple of all people.

    Hot Take (from a brick phablet fan): Making the phone smaller is better than making it thinner. Both have the same compromises (small battery, worse cameras, worse heat dissipation) but a smaller screen benefits one-handed use more than thinning the device.
    Sales will prove if I'm right or wrong. I'm ready to be surprised.

            Nothing new. Motorola started this changing to a thin design last year or was it the year before?

              I hope Apple doesn't end up making another iPhone 6S Plus bending problem all over again by making the iPhone 17 Air as thin as possible. I hope Apple has that all figured out because I would sure hate to see JerryRigEverything on YouTube do a stress test and find out the iPhone 17 Air can actually bend. That would sure be a PR disaster for Apple.

                              Samsung had the A8 2015 way before any slim phones were released by Apple. And guess what? It has a headphone jack and a minimal camera bump at 5.9 mm.

                              Oppo R5 is even slimmer, at 4.9 mm, although it has no headphone jack.

                                    There, and it's clearly going to have only a single camera, likely as small as the one on the 16e, maybe a bit bigger, but not a huge deal.
