It's coming soon, but it's still unclear exactly when.

But it's ok, that's common with anonymous users around here.

This is si/c battery chemistry it's much thinner and lighter in weight compared to older 10000mah in rugged phones so it is a big deal

This means battery size isn't only enjoyed by NICHE/ small customer base of rugged customers

But the whole mainstream... The masses get to enjoy large battery sizes

PomPomLover, 28 Mar 2025I agree. Improvements should mean more for less. But the in... moreOr maybe y'all should hit the gym more to manage such heavy smartphones 😂 Just kidding, I do think that there's gotta be a balance here regarding the weight and specs. Silicon carbon will definitely help keeping the weight and size of the battery lower than if it was a regular Li-Po unit, but still, 8000mAh? Surely there's only so much that silicon carbon, at its current state, can do to keep the weight down while managing such a big capacity cell.

Honor is bringing 8000mAh batteries to the midrange, yet Samsung is stuck with 4000mAh for their newest yet to be launched so-called flagship device.

Phone Critic, 28 Mar 2025It's Honor Magic 8 Lite From Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 to S... moreso the global name should be Honor X9D right ?

I don't mind with 250-ish gram, but I really don't like nowdays phone aspect ratio. It's too tall and narrow. I'd prefer it to be a bit wider so that no black screen on the sides when viewing movies.

But the industry seems to always just push for more and more so they can market it as such. My X200 Pro with the case is 300g. Most people I know would not want a phone that heavy regardless of its specs.

But the weight is already too much and it will only get worse with batteries growing bigger again after they hit a plateau at 5000 mah 2-3 years ago. About 5 years ago, most phones were around 160g, now it’s often 200g and more.

Nothing unthinkable about 8000mAh. Rugged phones from brands like Doogee have had more than 10000 and even 20000 mAh for years.

it is said that the honor magic 8 series will be powered
by the media tek 9500 & if that turns out to be true the
let the mid range be power ed by media tek 8350 also

                          !

crazy that it took a new battery tech alongside 5 more years of innovation to outdo what Samsung did back in 2020 with the M51. That phone was so GOATED bro.

Really happy that we're finally getting such large batteries i just hope 2 things happen :

1.) Fast charging is NOT sacrificed, so we got both fast charging and large batteries :D
2.) More and more phones follow suit and 6500-7000 mah becomes the norm for midrange.

Midrangers dont have sensors, cooling, speakers or vibration motors as large as more premium phones, they all have cheaper stuff, thus a larger battery is more feasible and the weight being too much is not too much of a concern. Especially cus of the new battery tech.

                            Let's goooo!!!
