sayabosanhidup, 31 Mar 2025when will these brands come up with an at least10x optical... moreI had the same concerns until I learned more about sensors and optics, believe me you are getting a lot more than you think. The same optics of this 3.7x telephoto lens but using a tiny sensor will result in even more than x10 optical zoom. This concept is really important to learn it will spare you a lot of fomo that doesn't actually has a good basis

Panino Manino, 31 Mar 2025I get what you mean, but in practice doesn't matter. ... moreIt does matter. You need 8K to crop 2x to have 4K.
Otherwise, you get 1080p upscaled to 4K.
That will never be as good as native 4K.

[deleted post]Weird. This is exactly what google has done since 1st pixel.
No one here complains ( except me , obviously)

Isn't the iPhone footage on the ultrawide camera? That's a bit scummy TBH. Vivo/BBK being dishonest as usual like most Chinese brands are..

Aierlan, 31 Mar 2025This is the ultrawide angle lens in the sample video which ... moreI get what you mean, but in practice doesn't matter.
If the ultrawide camera was of inferior quality than yes, something to consider. But if it's high quality enough that it can offer this stabilisation delivering a field of view equal or greater than the main camera from the competitors, with equivalent image quality, for the user doest matter how it was achieved.

iPhone uses 23 mm native 1x to take stable video, where as x200 ultra used 14mm ultra wide to take 1x video ( X200 ul have 35mm Main lens)

O, 31 Mar 2025Usual issue with Vivo flagships - WAY too much contrast and... moreI agree. There is just way too much contrast and saturation, so much so that the pictures and videos look more unnatural rather than true to life. Yes, the detail is excellent as well as many other things, but I'd prefer a natural looking photo rather than an overwhelmingly colourful and unnatural photo.

I believe them because they're Vivo. I have the X100 Ultra and it delivered everything they advertised and then some

Looks like Vivo x200 ultra video is cropped compared to iPhone 16 pro max.

Usual issue with Vivo flagships - WAY too much contrast and saturation. Makes SOOC useless. You need custom settings in virtually every mode AND post processing. The video is actually less bad in this respect than the photos.

Speaking as an X100 Ultra owner. It was exciting to see the Fuji partnership (the kings of SOOC jpgs), but that was made up unfortunately.

AntonelPAPI, 31 Mar 2025Every year the same, in real life they don't even come closei have x100 ultra and my wife iphone 16pm, video already looks better on vivo
at night iphone has more jerkiness and blowns out the hightlight, you can notice this in comparisons on youtube too, including with x200 pro(but cn version not global)

Aierlan, 31 Mar 2025Doesn't the LYT-818 come with UHCG in the sensor? Sensor features can be disabled by software for certain reasons.
For example sport cameras. Some functions are blocked to avoid overheating even in photo mode because sensors are too overpowered and require active cooling , like many 📽️ have.

Imx789 ( oone plus 9 pro or 10 pro) has dol-hdr, not used by the phone.

Much better to turn off EIS and use gimbal.
EIS reduces quality. Software has to upscale back to 3840 x 2160.
OIS is useless for video ( many here don't know this yet 🤣🤣🤣) ..

Aierlan, 31 Mar 2025Right And lyt-818 is first sensor with tcg, all rear camera sensors in x200 ultra support dcg, the question is whether they'll use it now that rear camera sensors have it across the board.

Aierlan, 31 Mar 2025Right All rear camera sensors in x200 ultra support at least dcg, the question is will they use it.
