No comparison with other cameras this time because "it would be too unfair".

I am using my x100 pro at 35mm usually, that mean newer ultra's 1/1.3 35mm is larger than 1.5x digital zoomed 1 inch sensor in light-receiving area.
If you are using 23-28mm focal length often, this change is not good, other than that it will straight improvement in above that length in newer ultra.

I like the Ultra Wide results, But to be honest, Considering it's an Ultra (My observation stands for next gen Pro as well), It should have had a 1" type main sensor. That was the strength of X100 Series (Pro & Ultra) as there is simply no match for sensor size via any processing. Vivo should not compromise on that front.

As long as it does not beat Xiaomi 15 Ultra it does not matter.
As long as it does not beat Nikon D7500 or Sony A7 RV or Sony FX6 it does not matter too.

Be sure that many will be using digital zoom on these phones to match native 35 from vivo. That is wrong.

I bet vivo is going to do same to convince users that x200 ultra is " better " than x100 ultra, when it is not to make them forget the downgrade.

LYT818 cannot match LYT900 , it does not have dual layer tech.
It is 70% smaller. It is clearly when you see photos of 100 ultra vs 200 pro .

Indrockz, 01 Apr 2025For those who prefer highly processed images with high nois... moreMan I hope they upgrade the uw and tele to 48mp sensors otherwise it'll be a shame for sony. Their uw is basically useless in harsh light and telephoto lacks details once you zoom above 3.7x. I am Sony fan and their colors are the best, I even use their cameras but paying 1400€ for 12mp sensor is pretty bad tbh. There a rumors a 200mp Sony developed sensor may be used on mark vii but who knows. Let's wait and see.

It's clear that Vivo will rock the uw part. That's for sure!

The biased trsh talkers now going towards the scenario saying that the other ultras will do crop to 35mm therefore gonna look inferior. Hahah. So what? Should Vivo not go out of the box and implement 35mm dedicated? Vivo does sth better and still these people complain.

You wanna see what lyt818 does on 23mm? Go check x200p.

35mm dedicated will battle with 35mm simple as that. If your beloved brand doesn't provide you that, don't cry here! They had to find a way to compensate that crop. No logic?

Vivo has disadvantage with that uw and Vivo needs to do crop to 23mm. So, the comparisons will cover that too!

What would be funny is that Vivo manages to take really good shots with that uw, delivering almost neck a neck performance on 23 mm and the look on these people's face...

Seeing periscope is improved as well. That's another worry for these trsh talkers as well.

We didn't finish yet. The additional processing chip, better video capabilities. Ois on uw...

This was my comment to the person questioning about the available information:

"Do your judgement based on the available information amd wait for real life comparisons.

I'm excited to see Oppo vs Vivo comparisons."

I'm basically talking about a logic for the interpretation based on what we have so far, pointing out for the upcoming reviews.

He's jumping on the argument like all the reviewers are doing the same crop thing without pointing out the hardware differences. There are reputable reviewers.

Neither x100u nor x200p has dedicated 35mm. There's a big debate some says x100u better due to having bigger sensor amd some says x200u is better due to better image processing.

I'm not going to dive into that!

People will use uw on x200u and crop into 23mm while comparing it to other flagships as well.

What about that geniuses? Did you consider that disadvantage as well? You're biased and finding excuses by saying 'the others will crop with the main lens so they're handicapped...'

So, x200u will have a definite advantage with 35mm but not the same for uw can be said yet.

Yet, people like you or the previous one gonna find arguments like vivo will have advantage. You guys are all biased because of your fanatic Oppo defending approaches.

And again x100u is not a subject here despite being the previous generation of ultra series. The subject is uw cam! And its abilities with competing the others.

For those who prefer highly processed images with high noise reduction, increased saturation, and heavy sharpening, current options have you covered. But if one appreciate naturally rendered image processing, it might be worth waiting for the Sony Xperia 1 Mark VII.

Over the top processed images, strong noise reduction and excessive sharpness, doubled by a strong unnatural HDR.

                            I simply don't like what I'm seeing!

I usually hate the cloud photo in Ultra-wide camera.
                                But this one is impressive.

Always take such shots with a pinch of salt. They surely used the phone on a tripod and picked the absolute best shots from very nice locations. The real tests come from when the phone is released and comparisons can be more detailed. From a hardware standpoint, this probably has the best UW sensor in the industry so I'm really curious what they deliver

I'm choosing between the Vivo X200 Ultra, the Honor Magic 8 Pro/Ultra and the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra. I think Vivo will have the best hardware this year, but the least attractive software (FuntouchOS) of all three. I won't go for the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra if it has the same rounded design as before - not only outdated, but it's also proven to be easy to knock off.
Also want to check the app availability in Europe. At the end, the Magic 8 Ultra might be the best choice for me. It will be interesting.

Oppo going to be 23mm, vivo at 35mm.
Instead of putting oppo closer to subject , so both can capture exactly same frame, all reviewers will be using digital zoom to match 35mm , consequently degrading photo quality.
Same will be done to pretend x100 ultra is inferior to 200 ultra, when x100 ultra humiliated 200 pro easily.
