unxpctd, 04 Apr 2025Why are you so offended by features that you don't use... moreWell nobody is forcing Sony to use them so why???
I dont use them because bluetooth audio better. Having to cables here and there better.
Also no sneaky water or rain drainhole means 3,5mm jack port.
And no useless slow SD cards. Which you can use for videos, photos and documents anyway.
No phone will run any app fom SD card and UFS 4.0 is way much faster than useless SD cards with speeds usually worse than even USB 2.0

FR, 04 Apr 2025phone without headphone jack makes no sense to meSame.
That's like a mp3 or cd player without audio jack.
Phone is a multimedia device so it must have audio jack!!!
      No jack = no buy

FR, 04 Apr 2025phone without headphone jack makes no sense to mePhone with it makes no sense to me too. Wireless audio better. No useless cabless everywhere. I am no walking xmas tree.

Yep, that looks like a [largely unchanged] Xperia.

If it ain't broke, then, I guess ... sell in Japan, Taiwan, HK, and a few EU countries and nowhere else, right?

It's a tiny shame they didn't go with the ribbed walls; Xperia are slippery as hell. That's really the worst thing I can think of about these phones. They're really solid phones (specs, mechanical build quality, software), nothing significant to complain about at all plus a few unique selling points. If I wasn't so darn happy with my Vivo (despite its own OS quirks and curved screen and need for a USB-C amp) I'd get this or a VI without even needing to first know the screen resolution, headphone impedence/SNR, or telephoto specs.

It's looking good to me. It's expensive, but Sony phones are known for dropping price quickly, if you want to save, wait 2-3 months and you can keep 20-30% of the original price in your pocket. On the top of it, no more expensive than other flagships.

I wish the 5 series would come back or even Sony came up with some foldable phone. I like to have pocket friendly devices, I have plenty of screens to look at if I want to have a big picture.

                    But

Nothing comes close to the legendary ARGB Notification LED.

IDK about you but people who have used the feature will tell ya, it's not just a tiny little light, it's almost an emotion for many of us.

Not to mention, much more power efficient than AOD.

Cpt.Power, 03 Apr 2025They would do better if flagship gets 6,8 inch or bit more.... moreMaybe consider getting a PC?!

What's the problem with you guys? You have 99 options that suit you and you still want that 1 option that suits someone else to stop existing? Why so cunning?

It is because of people like you that Asus ruined the Zenfone by making it a large, ugly brick, and putting a hole on their damn gaming phone's display. Did that not make you happy enough that you are now after Sony? People like you are the ones who the companies want to control and have in their pocket. You behave just like they want you to. Please use your brain and mind your own business.

There's some 4K rumours going about which given the '4K' previous 1 phones had would likely be 3840x1818 (653ppi at this size) which really I think that wouldn't be beneficial. It would just drain the battery harder.

Anonymous, 03 Apr 2025I'd argue always on display makes the notification LED... moreNah, a simple dot LED Notif with customizable color variation per app is much more appealing & less power hungry than an AoD so more battery life. It also reduces Burn-In on the screen & no need to strain yourself to look at the phone just to check but just a simple colored LED dot notif with specific color eg. Green for messages, Blue for fb, Red yt, Purple for whatever you assign it to is far more convenient.

Rare? Unique? Even an iPhone can be bought cheaper - and let's face it, these are some of the most expensive phones. In addition, they offer advantageous solutions through the combination of the ecosystem.
Sony phones are interesting, but the 3.5 mm jack is not enough to choose Sony. LG has already disappeared - now it's time for Sony?
It would be a shame, but where are their phones in advertisements, where are the offers from mobile operators, where are their phones in consumer electronics stores ?

In a world where General Motors, Toyota, and BYD compete for high sales, Rolls-Royce shines with the same repetitive style and design, offering authenticity and quality to its users and being patient to surpass its competitors (Maybach and Bentley) in time. Not everyone is going to seek authenticity. Those who understand the difference make the best choice.

They would do better if flagship gets 6,8 inch or bit more.
