Anonymous, 02 Apr 2025This crap loses to steam deck and gets creamed by ally 1.Fun fact: Nintendo rarely ever focuses on pure hardware specs, but rather, focuses on quality first party software. They tend to knock it out of the park with their games.

Nintendo's art style honestly still looked pretty good at 720p so really it's not the end of the world. It's already a pretty chunky hardware boost as is.

well that depends on the game , 4k 60 is probably very low demanding games , or 1080p 120 , Nintendo's own games don't tend to be graphically demanding

Gonna be funny how cyberpunk plays 🤣

Anonymous, 02 Apr 2025A78 yeah, Nintendo loves using ancient tech found in budget... moreThe A78 provides a good balance of performance and efficiency, which is very important in handheld mode. For games, the GPU is much more important than the CPU, and the GPU performance of the Nintendo Switch 2 is higher than that of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Most demanding games are GPU intensive, not CPU intensive.

Koishi Komeiji, 02 Apr 2025$299 Switch and $40 for game in 2017 $499 - 599 Switch 2... moreCan't believe I have to combat price misinformation HERE too of all places, lol.

Console price is $449. That's shown in the article already.

Mario Kart World is $80 physical and $70 digital. They probably marked the price up to make the special bundle look like more of a deal.

Donkey Kong Bananza is $70 physical and $60 digital. That'll likely be the price for other first-party Switch 2 games.

The updated model is fully rebuilt from the ground up and improves over every aspect of its predecessor.

                          Wrongggggg.

No OLED at this time. That is a major aspect.

It's £395 or £430 with the game here, and for that price there's things to like.

Given they're claiming QHD120 / 4K60 when docked the capability is probably a good bit more than a Steam Deck, while it would be cool to have 4K120 that would probably make it PS5 Pro money so I see why when it's already not cheap. Screen is a good upgrade, it's not the OLED but then again anyone PWM sensitive wasn't getting an OLED Switch so LCD makes sense if they can only launch one. FHD, 120hz and VRR are all pretty big improvements anyway.

Second USB-C is nice, the camera is a bit of a gimmick but it's good to be able to charge in tabletop mode. No idea if they're added WiFi 6 / WPA3 support for the networking, let's hope they have as no WPA3 is a bit of a problem now.

Requirement of the at this point still rare SD Express is a weird one, 256GB base is a positive but £80 for another 256GB is more than it costs for 1TB in M.2. Makes me wonder why they didn't just add an M.2 2230, they're similar in size to game cards and widely available because of PC handhelds.
