I'm not 'murican, but I am sure the US has a lot of empty space. They'll probably scrap a few of those abandoned or desolate towns and turn it into Apple factories.

FYI, even without tariffs or with tariffs, most of the countries are already paying very high prices for iPhones.

Android phones have been made in all countries unlike iPhones.

People will be saved from buying mindless and useless iPhones every other year or two and use the money for some other productive purposes. Thank God Donald Trump did this finally! Also, USA is in huge massive debt for many decades and trying to use USD to leverage in international trades and trying to fund their citizen’s madness towards buying things cheap by making them all over the world. Let USA face the reality of working hard and make product for themselves first, let us see how cheap or expensive it will be.

"...indicating that US citizens should brace for higher prices on goods and services- after all, that's what they voted for."
A hard hitting line. Unfortunately, when you search the debris of those crushed, you'll find a significant amount of people who didn't vote for this.
But this is the reality of elections.

Manchito, 05 Apr 2025It will much cheaper to buy an iphone from EU rather than US. Well, if you live in US not really, because they will still put taxes on anything that comes from abrod, and you'll have to have friends in europe to send the crapp to you, and trust them to do it.

Anonymous, 04 Apr 2025We've yet to see those changes is what the commenter i... moreWe actually are starting to see it! With the brand new Switch 2, wallets in the U.S will be swallowing a $449 price tag, while buyers in Japan will be paying about 50,000 Yen, or a bit under $345 USD after conversion. That's $100 more, or a 30% increase in price. These tariffs are having consequences, and we are actively watching those consequences be passed down to the consumer.

Anonymous, 03 Apr 2025It is for American companies to return manufacturing to US.... moreright but with the modern wage laws and cost of living in the US, its going to cost far more to manufacture goods than it would be compared to other nations, even if all their workers were paid minimum wage.(and I don't believe citizens would be too interested in building iPhones for $7.25 an hour) That alone would at least DOUBLE the cost of assembling these devices, and that's not even considering the fact that U.S. companies will still need to import the raw materials needed to build these iphones, because the U.S. is severely lacking in those types of resources. Regardless of how you put it, these tariffs are going to make everything more expensive, and even if manufacturing in the U.S. ends up becoming cheaper down the road, prices still wont drop since companies would rather pocket that saved money instead of dropping the prices of their products.

The base iPhone 17 or 18 could start at 1,000 - 1,100USD, which is crazy.
