04 April 2025
It will only arrive next year, however.

Well, as long as the jelly scrolling is gone, 60Hz isn't terrible. High refresh rate, though, would be nice. An iPad Pro mini, or the revival of the 9.6" iPad Pro, would also be welcome.

So, a switch from LCD to OLED, without a confirmed high refresh rate or LTPO, is huge now.

Whoever said huge in title to clickbait readers has a small weewee.

I am personally a huge fan of these mini tablets, great for general media and especially gaming. Game UIs on smartphones (even the biggest ones) often feels cramped, but with a 10" or bigger tablet, UIs get stretched so much that its difficult to reach buttons without re-adjusting your hands, unless you have giant hands of course. Larger tablets are also heavier and tire your hands when holding them. The 8-9 inch screen is a good middle ground for just about everything. Its a shame that apple and Lenovo are the only manufacturers making decent tablets at this size though, everyone else makes them into budget tablets with garbage specs that don't last long, or are just unreliable and unusable straight out of the box (cough cough, Samsung and Amazon)

No one cares...we already carry mini tablet phones 6.7-6.9" in our pockets daily and have pc's or macs with big 34" or more screens at home so, no one needs tablets. Next.

Still, benefits are huge, everything is much smoother. I don't understand people who saying " I don't see the difference". Something is wrong with them 😀

Apple should give 120Hz first and then switch to oled.

I couldn't use 60 Hertz anymore, it just feels bad.

I actually use 60Hz on my phone all the time because of better battery life. The only time I switch to 120Hz is during mobile gaming, which truly shows noticeable difference between it and 60Hz.

No thanks, I'll stick with current iPad mini 7's IPS LCD screen all day.

High refresh rate is not a luxury now that only pros can have it.
Sometimes I wonder about the mental capacity of people at apple taking decisions like these.

Will likely come with a huge price bump as well.

Samaung/Xiaomi needs to make a ipad mini competitor. Xiaomi pad 7 mini would be perfect.
