Cupertino is also likely to cut its hardware margins and is actively trying to renegotiate better contracts with supply chain partners.

The items will still be available just at a higher cost. Those who can pay will get it. Others will settle for something cheap. Nothing new just a refresher for rich vs poor.

Will the price increase internationally—especially in Asia—or is it only in the USA? For example, the iPhone 16 costs $799 in the US, but with tariffs, the price can rise to $1,142. So if the iPhone 17 is priced the same as the 16, will it end up costing even more than $1,142 for the base model with taxes? Does anyone know the answer?

More like a double dip! They stockpile still charge higher citing tarrif! Consumers won't know but end up paying more for iPhones blaming the government but they won't know Apple is milking them again!

It's a great phone no lag or noticable battery downgrade. The only issue I have is bloatware and ads but they can be disabled through restricting apps access to the internet and downloading a launcher to hide apps.

The problem with Apple manufacturing the iPhone in America is that Apple doesn't actually do the manufacturing or engineering. That's done by Foxconn and their Chinese workers. Apple and the US govt will have to convince Foxconn to set up factories in the US employing US workers which they have been reluctant to do. It's just not feasible and they lose money with the prices Apple pay for each iPhone.

Anonymous, 07 Apr 2025Will the prices rise in the rest of the world as well or only US?I wouldn’t be surprised if Apple will ask consumers outside the US to pay more for their devices as well though tariffs in practical terms shouldn’t be applied to others… They will not increase their prices 26 per cent or 34 percent in the US (maybe they will charge 15 per cent more and will charge the remaining 15 per cent to all other countries though it will be extremely unfair). My theory…At the end of the the day they will be charging way more than 30 per cent worldwide (counting with the US) and still have profit margins…So iPhones will still be “cheaper” in the US than the rest of the world …My guess…

Actually the prices are not alike. If you look at storage, RAM and screen, iphone is mocking it's users. Of course, behind thr mocking 64GB storage or 128, there is actually a big will to sell you some cloud space, so they can constantly make money with something they have already sold to you, while keeping your privacy not so secure, as we can all see in everyday leaks.

instead of making a trillion in profit, they will make like 990 or something like that, sure it's a lot of loss, but next year when they increase... i mean adjust their prices, they make back 5 times what have been lost this year.
