2025 might be the year when Samsung takes the Fold seriously again.

I understand the reasoning, but the size of the screen only really works for one handed typing, not two handed- and that's precisely the issue. Typing one handedly is awkward and uncomfortable due to the phone being top heavy (and just heavy in general), as well as being extra thick. The sharp corners and edges dont help to improve comfort or grip either.
Instinctively, you'd want to type with two hands, but unless you have small hands, two thumbs wont work well because of the width of the screen.

And unless ur a literal behemoth it's easy to type on the phone. U don't need two hands with the ultras or maxes. They're probably not going to, but if they released 2 phones, 1 with the thinner screen and one that's wider, the sales for the thinner screen wouldn't be too far off. Reddit isn't the whole fanbase despite what they'd want you to believe.

You want big screen - enjoy poor cameras hw too - 6 gen of the same hw - rofl.
      While oppo feels natural.

The cramped screen size along with the large thickness and weight of samsung's foldables makes it an awful experience to use.
It doesn't make sense why Samsung hasn't just widened the phone either. not only would it make it more comfortable to use, but it would also give them more internal room to fit bigger batteries or better cameras, or even the Spen silo that people have been asking for for years

Phone buff just did a video of all the newest android flagships, and the s25 ultra came second to last, only being saved by a Pixel. All of the Chinese competitors beat it, the Vivo X200 pro beating it by over two hours. Samsung is not the battery champion, they have fallen far behind the competition

Eye watering upgrades, with poor superwide and tele cameras. Top performers in sensor size, resolution, reach are still short of bar phones, while samsung copy pasted specs for 6 generations.
Not sure who is surpris3d, but I'm just sad.

Fold 5 is $1.1k, One plus open $1k. When Samsung makes entry level fold with snap 7 and snap 6 for $800 that will be the year samsung takes fold seriously

People are funny. They will always find SOMETHING to complain about. First it was the crease is too deep, and the screen is too narrow. Then the camera is not good enough. Then...there is not enough innovation (in a phone that is literally an engineering marvel to begin with mind you.) On top of the fact that it is too thick. Well now...they are upgrading that ALL AT ONCE. And the response to that is..."well they took too long to do it, this is what the last one should have been" LMAO, OR "but the chinese have already had this phone for a year, they are just feeding us the same thing they already had, with no innovation" lol. It is hilarious to watch. Especially when Apple has been feeding us the same thing for god knows how long, and people act like they are the gods of the mobile phone industry.
When a new iteration of an automobile is released, the car company generally keeps the same design for 5 years before introducing any MAJOR design changes to the model. They may trickle in some different lights, or a new hood within that 5 years, but generally...the model itself looks pretty much the same for 5 years straight. But no complaints when they do it. But then...if Samsung DID change the design completely, people would still complain..."well why would they change the design so drastically. Samsung doesnt know what theyre doing." I dont know why people expect phone companies to reinvent the wheel every 12 months. And why would they throw the kitchen sink at the phone anyway?! Because if they did...one of two things would happen...either you would then complain about the cost, OR there would be no new innovation to add for the next 2-3 years, because the phone would literally have everything the technology world has to offer at the moment, and youd be back to the "no new innovation argument" because there'd be nothing left to give you the following year (or two.)
Do you know how hard it must be to try and include everything a consumer wants while simultaneously keeping the pricepoint the same or similiar to what it was the year before when literally EVERYTHING ELSE around you is getting more expensive! Bro...lol. If they added everything people are complaining about, the phone would be $2300. And THEN guess what you'd say...LMAO

so basically they are taking last years Samsung fold 6 SE for the chinese market which should have been the 6 standard, and launching it globally, who didn't see that coming? I mean from a financial standpoint they have already done the development s the phone can just go global, and it is an upgrade on the existing model, but a bit of a d**k move

Wish it had a bigger Battery, Like Z Flip getting these Battery Upgrades but not the Fold still the same 4400mah since Fold 3.

Samsung's foldables dropped from 10 million sales in 2021 and 2022 to 7+ million in 2023 to 5+ million in 2024. Yet, they still sold the most foldables each year.

Folks like you keep talking specs, but when it comes down do it, you're not buying these phones.

Woefully disappointed with what the rumored specs are so far. They seem to be minor upgrades and do not really fix what I would like to see. I really would like to see a larger display (width wise). That would so help useability.

                                      upgrades?!

                                      after 5 gens?!

no matter OPPO, Huawei, and other foldable phones offers very good specs than previous ZFold, even if Samsung already took improvement over ZFold 7
