As for tariffs, once in the past, Apple have absorbed tariffs, but they were not so high. GSMArena mentioned this in an article. I think it was 10%, but don't trust my memory.

Of course, sometimes they end up being in profit despite absorbing tariffs, more so in high margin goods, as the comparatively lower price attracts more customers into your brand, i think. So, one needs to analyse on case to case basis...

China will always win, keep dreaming. The supply chain is so complex in there, every single company depends on it ! especially apple.

Well we can always welcome Chinese products in Europe... Unless of course they arrive at the same price or even more expensive than those from Japan or US...

                                      I don't understand 2 things here:

                                      1. Why should Apple be affected so significantly? A 20-35% price hike (assuming Apple absorbs some of the tariff) makes it premium, yet a manageable deal for majority of the existing customers, who're no cheapskates themselves. In fact now these customers can boast exclusivity of being the "rich" guys in the town.

                                      2. Wouldn't favouring some companies exclusively be anti-competitive? Isn't this against the USA's economic principle of a free market?
