While a lot of us nowadays call an n-inch sensor "Type n sensor" instead to avoid potential confusion, it's not technically wrong to call the former as it is.

Waitinng for 2 inch or 3 inch maybe even 5.
The said 1 inch is nothing standing out of the crowd.

why ful resolution camera samples from these high megapixel sensors are not that different from binned ones? with 1.6 micron pixels a 50mp photo in good light condition must be much sharper and full of details.i think only iphone deoes full res capture right even with smaller sensor.

They are just milking for profit at this point

I have been saying triple gain sensors for the longest, and saw papers bt both Samsung and Sony. But they haven't officially introduced anything with it. Smartphone sensors have peaked. Also Smartphone lens tech needs to jump a few generations. Would love to actually see a Smartphone photo and video that can be compared with much larger sensor cameras. And critically evaluated on a monitor atleast 35 inches across. Not small smartphone screens.

You quotations seem to be taken from somewhere else or your imagination.

Also, competition brings the prices down. At least, prevents the other company becoming too ccky.

You can clearly see what happened to intel after amd rise.

Or we see what's going on with Nvidia thanks to their beloved Cuda!

Luckily amd released surprisingly good GPUs to show some competition against 50xx series. I clearly see how Nvidia has messed up with their QC and buggy updates.

You might say these are different sectors and run away. Still a tech industry and there has to be always an alternative. This is clearly beneficial for customers.

And prices are going down too! In time! Samsung beloved 108 main sensor became a midrange normal! Same goes to imx 890 turning into lyt series and being used in mid ranger or in flagship killer models.

When there was a talk about 1 inch sensor, usually or almost always Sony was coming to mind. This is no longer true and I love it!

There's no 1-inch camera phone with a 1-inch sensor, neither from Sony nor from Omnivision. It's just marketing stuff.
