Ingress protection can only be expected to hold within specific conditions; go beyond that (a little too deep in the water, a little too hot/cold, a little too much pressure...) and it may fail. And it is hard for anyone to prove whether a given water damage happened within spec or not, so in practice manufacturers basically have the choice between covering all water damage or none.

I understand this, but this is also why I do not like how IP is used for advertising phones to "civilians". The manufacturer brags that a phone was tested for submersion to 3 meters, and people think they can go snorkeling with it - a perfectly reasonable assumption, and you'd have to read the $400 IP standard document to find out that it is not necessarily true.

In two years it will be borderline unusable. No-one is talking of putting 16GB into this, but just 8GB instead of 6GB would likely keep it usable for 4-5 years.

Also, this phone has DeX, that is, Samsung's "desktop experience" feature. That can be tremendously useful in a corporate setting - but it can also be infuriating when there is too little RAM, e.g. you are working on something in Excel, switch to the browser to check something, switch back and find Excel has reloaded for lack of RAM and your recent changes are gone. As DeX was in the XCover6 Pro and Samsung kept it in the XCover7 Pro, I think it is safe to assume that enterprise wants this feature, yet given the hardware limit I think it will struggle significantly in the near future.

Enterprise won't just order device with 16GB ram and 512GB because "it looks nice" each and every features they request them. If you take Example company like Walmart they order more than 700K units, you think they just randomly order it or they request those specs? 700k is good enough number to request custom specification if they need it.

Limiting the phone to 6GB RAM is not some business feature, it is just penny-pinching. It also reduces the lifetime prospects of the phone, which may be a plus from Samsung's perspective.

in the US, Moto G Power (2025) is almost identical to G75 but with a worse chip & a worse update policy of 2 years. (But on the bright side, it gets a headphone jack)
