Just saying Xiaomi needs to improve their lowlight video quality in particular, whatever sensor is used. The lowlight video quality and stabilisation on the Xiaomi 15 ultra is really quite weak even compared to something like the Vivo x200 pro or last year's Oppo find x7 ultra. They haven't really improved video quality for a number of generations. I think Vivo focusing on video quality this year though might give them the kick up the backside they need to focus more on video quality in the next generation.

Camera modders have shown what it can do on gn2 on mi 11 ultra and on lyt-900 xiaomi 14 ultra and sensor manufacturers wouldn't be making such sensors without a reason.

            The vanilla Find X8 beats it in AnTuTu and is only a bit behind in the other two tests.

                vik457, 14 Apr 2025Now for x16u to use dcg+lofic.Looks good on paper but Xiaomi's video quality is weak for a top flagship in the Xiaomi 15 ultra especially at night. Will have to wait and see if it actually makes any difference. They need to improve there video quality. Interested to see what Vivo's video quality will be like with the Cipa level 5 stabilization on all sensors and DCG. Vivo seem to be putting a big focus on video this time but again whether it translates into much improved actual quality from the x200 pro remains to be seen

                      Exposure: Now it would be them who clips and crushes before, because they couldn't compete with sheer sensor dynamic range

                      Snr: the other should be able to expose longer because of lofic and has higher max shutter time to 1 exposure

                      Color accuracy: 14-bit raws vs 10-bit raws. Also their tonemapping screws it up

                      Artifacts: apple will be one with artifacts

                      Exposure time management: Much simpler with 1 exposure.

                      Stabilisation: indirectly improved due to just 1 exposure and and much bigger headroom in exposure.

                      And that's not even accounting for higher max analog gain.

                          All my interest in this device vanished the moment they said "we sent it to western youtubers for fun and giggles, because this is not going to be released in Europe".

                          And I am not going to import it, kinda sad because it was high up on my wishlist.

                                      best in class, not by much tho. As others here have expressed, benchmarks on a phone don't mean a whole lot (I am interested in the throttling tho) but still, nice stuff, oppo.
