                6, 8 even 10 years of updates is sueless. Warranty is always much more important to have.
                In case of 8 years of updates or more i bet those phones needs to have at least 12GB ram and 256GB storage othervise they will not got anywhere.
                Within past 10 years we went from 1GB RAM and 8GB disk space in a phone to requirement of 6/64GB combo.
                So in next 10 years 12/256GB would be bare minimum.

                      Time to time I see gms / framework services up to 400. For what those do( almost nothing but a leash to googoo gcp) it's obviously an optim problem. they don't care because noodles buy new phones like goat.

                              just consider this minimum requirements by 2x for normal usage.
                              e.g. 8GB for 15 and 12GB for 16.
                              also don't consider ram boost in this.
                              12GB is normal as today's standard on android to buy new phone.
                              keeping atleast 3 years update in mind.

                                    Claiming someone doesn't understand something when you didn't bother to explain anything yourself is basically nothing.

                                    Meanwhile I've been an IT professional for decades and have a deep understanding of Linux memory subsystem, including file system caching and buffers, shared ram, free vs. available ram, swapping, etc. And oh boy Android uses the Linux kernel underneath.

                                        I use 3 phone because I can wait to try new phone every 2 years 🙂🙂🙂
                                        1 for work related
                                        1 for private/gaming
                                        1 for the banking

                                        My work phone is the "old one" that I use LineageOS
                                        A degoogled one.
                                        I don't miss Google at all.
                                        I can watch Youtube with the new pipe apps (premium no ads)
                                        If I want Gmail I can use Gmail download from Aurora Store
                                        Otherwise I can choose Proton Mail, Yahoo Mail, etc.
                                        Or LibreWolf

                                        The one is harder is actually Google Maps for navigation.
                                        The alternative is usable but really not as good as Google.
                                        If I can grade, I would grade Google Maps as A+, and the alternative as B+
                                        But I can use Google maps through web browser if I needed to.
