erotavlas, 17 Apr 2025Holy cow, that camera bump is massive. Like crazy massive!... moreYes its real.
Camera fans wouldnt complains and ithers can pick from billions of others phones on market.
For example midranger with glagship procesor S25 Ultra.
This phone have everything superior not just chipset.
Although Xiaomi Mi 15 Ultra far better.
I really dont think anything can beat that phone.

The Android Freak, 17 Apr 2025Except for not having flat display, this is best phone ever... moreMi 15 Ultra is better and it have better cameras.

SirArtur, 17 Apr 2025No, it would not. The lens focal length is just the distanc... moreYour statement is only partially correct, because nobody implied the 1" sensor needs to have the same aperture as the ~70% smaller 1/1,28" one. With slower apertures, you can produce smaller lenses even for bigger sensors.
You may be asking why bother with larger sensor then?! The answer is because in good light, they offer much better image quality because of the larger pixels: lower noise, finer details, higher DR and better tonality and colors; which they all are directly proportional with the sensor size. The bigger the sensor, the better the image quality! Faster lenses only help in lower light situations, but larger sensors also produce cleaner images to start with in any situation.

Have you've seen out of the camera JPG's from the Nikon, Canon or Sony APS-C's lately? Instead of carrying big, chunky mirror-less with a huge super-zoom that can weight more than 1Kg together, you are better served by a very competent Camera-phone, which is also a portable computer that can connect to the internet at will.

This is my humble opinion as an owner of a Sony A7III, which mostly stays in the shelf nowadays after purchasing the Oppo Find X7 Ultra.

IMX363, 17 Apr 2025That camera bump looks big enough to fit two 1"-type s... moreNo, it would not. The lens focal length is just the distance between the lens and the sensor. Period. Mind you that the focal length is given as a full-frame equivalent. And that is why in newer smartphones, zoom lenses are periscopes - to actually fit somewhere that distance between the sensor and the lens. So, Vivo would have to go with an even smaller sensor to have a native 35mm or put the sensor vertically. And because of the sensor size second option would not help with the camera bump. So yeah, it is that big, because it has to be.

potato4k, 17 Apr 2025If you want a camera, why would you buy this phone instead ... moreBecause of size! And because of you do always have your phone at your fingertips.
Otherwise, i am total with you - a dedicated camera with interchangeable lenses and bigger Sensor is always being preferred, and leads to better, more quality images, especially in terms of DR and rendition, tonality, etc.

I'm fine with the camera bump as long as they're AMAZING cameras.

But unfortunately they're just looking above average. Only 3.7X optical zoom? Meanwhile competitors are fitting 5X into smaller packages?

Elite cheep, 17 Apr 2025That camera bump looks ugliest ever in a phone....someone has never seen a Pixel from gen. 6 until today.

I'm genuinely curious how you would improve on this design? The off-center, wobbly vertical bar of Sony and OnePlus and Galaxy A-series? Samsung's hull-necessitating gridded islands? Something combining both imperfect designs like Honor's, Motorola's, etc.? The simple elegance of a single, centered, utility-grade camera like Ulefone? A copy of the Oppo Find X8? (Oh, wait, that's the same design.) Making the bump smaller by sacrificing features and then putting it off to a side to wobble caseless like the OnePlus 12?

Better yet... just put the cameras in a little box like a GoPro and it hangs out of the phone by its flat ribbon cable! No one's thought of that yet!!

                                    😐

The camera bump doesn't look so bad after putting the case on.

That camera bump alone is thicker than the new S25 Edge and iPhone 17 Air !
Looks like the future is thin, and their camera bumps are already obsolete.
