People here will trash a 180g 7.2mm phone for using „outdated“ li-ion technology, then praise a 199g 8mm phone with 6000mAh just because it advertises to use si/c, even though the energy density is barely different

Slow claps 👏
When I thought Samsung couldn't get more anti-innovative they just break the world record with this smartphone
Imagine Samsung releases the M 51 with 7000mah battery and over the years they reduced it to 5000mah
But it doesn't end there , in the era of battery size massive increases Samsung's plan is to reduce the thickness by 30% with outdated 5000mah cells
The complete opposite of what you would expect from this type of smartphone series!!!!!!

Why do samsung keep pushing out these slightly different series of phones? Just going to take more dev time and cause delays in updates like for oneui 7

Samsung has made a huge mistake with the M5X for the past few years and that is the long gone the huge battery replaced with the standard 5000mAh battery moreover now where the competition already in the 8000mAh realm, M56 should have used SD 6G4 with 10000mAh battery, 6.9in screen is also nice

Cepelinai, 17 Apr 2025This release highlights the sad state of Samsung. I'... moreyeah the midrange to budget market is pretty disappointing for the most part and it's better to either suck up and keep buying these OR to save up and get a second hand flagship and then replace the battery.

xfrqnx, 17 Apr 2025they still not using silicon carbon battery? why not bring ... morei highly doubt Samsung is going to use Si/C battery, it seems to be a China only thing for at least 2-3 more years. Not to mention the fact that Samsung has been highly conservative with its battery for the most part after the Note7 thing.

This release highlights the sad state of Samsung.
I'm comparing M56 with my current phone, a 5 year old Samsung M31s and other than the chipset I see only downgrades. And M31s was considered a midrange phone among the M class back in 2020!
Model: M56 - M31s
Screen PPI: 382 PPI - 405 PPI
Chipset: Exynos 1480 - Exynos 9611 (only notable upgrade for M56)
Memory card: Unspecified - microSDXC dedicated slot
Rear cameras: 50/8/2(!) MP - 64/12(!)/5/5 MP
Front camera: 12 MP - 32 MP
Audio jack: No - Yes
NFC: No - Yes
Battery: 5000 mAh - 6000 mAh
Screen type, resolution, connectivity, ergonomics are similar.
Honestly, it looks like a joke of a release if can't convince me to switch over my 5 year old midranger of a lower category. Great job, Samsung!

33% bigger (Monster) vapour chamber, because their processor heats a lot.

Tranquillow, 17 Apr 2025This means, the 7Ah battery will be back with the M57? Yes pleaseMaybe, but things shouldn't be lost and then come back so customers are happy again, things should be improved, 7000mAh in a year isn't gonna be good enough.

Does anyone really care that it's thinner? Batter wise it's essentially the same phone but just.. thinner? Why do people care so much about sacrificing potential battery capacity and charging speed just for an already thin phone to be thinner?

Now what will they do with M36. Expecting a downgrade to 5000 mAh from 6000mAh. This could kill the M series completely.
