ProMaxUltraAreBricks, 21 Apr 2025Enthusiasm for a large 6.9mm camera bump making the phone a... morewell, sir, if you're a "non photographer" person, why are you even on gsmarena? why are you even looking at articles of this phone?
The average person buys an S25 Ultra/iPhone 16 Pro Max and considers himself a photography genius and considers the iPhone to be better than actual full frame cameras.
This is hilarious man, i cant even get mad at this level of.... buffoonery. This is like complaining about the RTX 5090 cus the RTX 5060 is what "the average" person uses, alongside 1440p and medium settings. Ok, then dont buy it? Dont look at it? Just ignore it?
You're like a spoiled child, everything needs to be catered for you. People cant have ANY choices at all... LOL

Real innovation isn't bulking up a phone just to improve the camera, it's about making that camera amazing without making half of the thing a two phone thick brick.
And just like foldable phones are getting thinner, we'll see slim, powerful phones with amazing cameras become the norm someday.
So this new Vivo is nothing groundbreaking.

Let's not forget the quality of that, and the fact that said phone basically only had a zoom lens and nothing else, which as we all know now is NOT the way to do it.
So this innovation is "pedestrian" according to you, but keeping the same specs for years isn't? Yeah, right. Oh, I know what counts as innovation for you, making phones slim, like back in the 2014-2015 era.
Let's see which brand was the one behind one of the slimmest smartphones ever, oh yeah it was VIVO.

We get it, you like small and thin phones, sure that's understandable, but for people who can manage large devices why can't they buy that? For me a small phone is irritating and harder to use, however I can understand the appeal of one, so you should be able to accept the appeal of large phones as well.
"And the phone is China only."
And anyone can easily import it, if they WANT to.

Oh well, you are free to stick with whatever ancient relic of a phone you currently have, nobody cares either way. I really don't see the point to your whiny nonsensical comments. For "non-photographer" users (aka most people), it just looks awkward.
"Intriguing specs" in 2025?
Maybe for the hardcore lens nerds. Let's not forget the Galaxy S4 Zoom had 10x optical zoom in 2013. This "innovation" feels a bit… pedestrian for the average users.
And the phone is China only.

DarlingYext, 21 Apr 2025Interesting, my imported vivo X Note still works like new, ... more"Oh, and of course you would try the spyware card as well. Do you use Google, Meta apps? Well, then there are your real spies."
It's not just about Google/Meta. It's about Chinese law (National Intelligence Law, Counter-espionage Law...) potentially compelling data access regardless of user location. Along with chinese-made Android phones include built in browsers that leak sensitive data, have poor encryption, give risky permissions to third parties, bundled apps with suspicious permissions... just the tip of the iceberg.
But, oh well, if you don't know about security and privacy, this doesn't matter.
"Booh, really? What functions am I supposed to be missing? Android Auto and 5G comes to my mind, but guess what, they both work. So, have you got any actual features to mention?"
Glad your 5G works. But this will not be the case for every region (for example, EU has different 4G/5G bands for each country and EU/global phones support most of them).
And some payment or banking apps are known for not running on insecure devices.
"I'd rephrase that to the language we, normal people use. - Buy phones that YOU actually like, and prefer, unless you want to be influenced by random people on the internet."
Absolutely, buy what you like, but if it's expensive, it's better to try it on first in store, unless you enjoy gambling flagship money on a phone you likely couldn't even test in a store (good luck finding Vivo store + with X200 Ultra outside of China to try that "huge uncomfortable brick" first).
"Wrong brand, that must've been autocorrect, altough V and S aren't that close on the keyboard."
4 year old Vivo X70 Pro+ expensive flagship, no Android 15 and no security patches.

I still keep getting updates every month. Not just security patches! Real updates with long update logs! They added android auto plenty of other features focusing on the lock screen etc. Added wifi 7 support. Plenty of supported bt codecs
Smooth interface experience.
This is a device released for China and yet kept the support for their international users as well.
I had zero issues with network bands and the phone still works smoothly. I'm impressed by its smoothness especially when I try the latest flagships next to it. Doesn't even feel like almost 3 years old device. I think this explains quite a bit how crippled the device outside of China lol
Yeah. Crippled! I'm crying for three years yet I keep using it:)
