Dimensity 9500 specs leak: all-big CPU cores, monster NPU and other improvements

Digital Chat Station reports that the CPU will have a 1+3+4 configuration.

Kangal, 05 May 2025It looks like a 1+3+4 design with Cortex (X6 + X4 + A730). ... moreA725 has already shown its excellence, if A730 is gonna be even a slight improvement over it im thinking it's gonna be a superb year for mediatek regardless of the outcome. Their chip will be significantly cheaper than Qualcomm's, thus more people will be able to use it.

For example the X300 Pro likely will be global just like last year's unlike the Chinese Ultras and stuff. And I think Pro model phones just have better availability than, for example, the Ultras like the Xiaomi 15 Ultra.

Regardless, I think that since the 9300, people's perception of Mediatek being completely inferior has started to shift and now that they're better in GPU, they actually dont really care about the chip. Unless ofc they have some negative bias towards Mediatek.

I'm just happy to see PROPER competition man. Similar product at a LOWER cost, now THAT'S what's good for consumers! Not what Samsung and Google do, overpriced stuff (Exynos/Tensor) with similar if not HIGHER prices in some regions.....

    The X6 will be overclocked for best single-core performance, whilst the X4 will be underclocked for a good multi-threaded performance. Lastly the A730 will offer exceptional performance and battery life, will mostly be way underclocked.

    I don't expect much of an upgrade, since the node and microarchitecture don't seem to hold any surprises. So I doubt they will match the QC 8e2. Apple is the wildcard because they have the best resources to win, and keep the efficiency/performance crown..... but they are greedy so they may refuse to compete.

    Either way, I hope for progress to move ahead !

        Mt505, 30 Apr 2025And mtk throttles so no overheat.throtling is good for some circumstances, especially when we were recording 4k videos we don't want to get that dreaded 'shutting down due to overheating' warning after just a couple of minutes.

              You have posted figures that everyone else who reports it cite DCS as the source. Not one manufacturer has even suggested that MTK is cheaper, or MTK itself has stated that it has gained by being LESS COSTLIER (price) than Qualcomm.

              There are organisations with more resources, professional investigative reporter who are better positioned to obtain this information. So far none have. The main reason is it is all made up by DCS. Again all who ran with the story cite DCS in his Wiebo post

              My point is you won't find another source that verifies or independently reports it

              DCS is not a factual source and the nearer you get to the company released data then his story changes.

              Example, the next gen Oryon he posted June release this is now modified to September 2025. 8S Gen 4 multiple changes, multiple stories 8S Gen 4 is nothing like his posts even 1 month before Qualcomm announced it
              Has he removed his post about 4K clock speed so no source for the story?

                          I have a feeling the next gen chips will overtake Apple and MTK and Qualcomm will be battling against each other for the top spot. MTK winning in GPU and Qualcomm winning in CPU

                          this design looks scary good if true. The cortex-a725 is already a nice uplift, if they improve on it further and implement a next gen X chip on the 9500 it'll be good enough for basically everyone IF thermals are kept in check.

                          Mediatek has caught up in performance, what they need to improve are the ISP (cus Ultras still prefer Qualcomm and have better photography) and more importantly app support. Games have high average FPS but the 1% lows and stuff are quite low comparatively.
