They're the ones who make a phone with a certain number, along with it's pro/ultra/s/plus versions and then 26 other variants for each letter in the English alphabet. Or maybe you should wish for Samsung to shut shop, for all the mess they make after releasing their A series models when they match each one of them with a worse F and M series phone.

        Sony makes no more than 3 phones a year. It was 2 last year.

I think I'm always very careful with my things, and I've never broken a smartphone in my life. I don't own a cell phone company, so I don't even understand warranties and all that much. Plus, even video game consoles only get a one-year warranty for manufacturer defects.

              I'm glad Sony's still making and selling the only uncompromised flagship in existence year after year, even if it costs a hefty premium. Wouldn't blame them if they skipped the US again this year though, given the ridiculous tariff roulette we've got spinning.

No need to go through painful data transfer process. Also no need to risk privacy using cloud.

                If you reset your phone, data in SD card isn't touched. If you get a new phone, you can just insert the SD card and get all file over there instantly.

                        2) what's ur problem with having a choice? If YOU don't wanna use the SD card, then don't, nobody is forcing YOU to use it, and if you don't use it, it doesn't hurt you. However, I do wanna use it. I like having choices.

                        You're supporting corporations instead of consumers, which is a really bad mindset.

But at least Pixel allows you to choose many custom colour in themes but in Xperia only one colour available which is light blue. Not sure why Sony removed that?

                              As for sidesense, what if I don't want sidesense button showing? It's annoying to see it there always and looks intrusive.
                              Three finger gesture is very easy. But other ways are available too, on Xiaomi for example you set it up many ways, such as long press any of the three navigation buttons or even double tap/triple tap at the back to take screenshot, doesn't need anything floating on the screen like Sony.

                              One handed mode is a standard android feature available even in HyperOS, not exclusive to Sony.

                              Here's two things I have to say:

                              1. Sony's UI used to be as featureless as now but was very reliable and smooth. Unfortunately they lost the reliability and smoothness on newer models, it's obvious when comparing Xperia 5ii with 5V. The latter has obvious UI bugs whereas former had virtually none. Don't know if they improved things with 1vi.

                              2. Even Xiaomi HyperOS, which isn't the best UI to use, feels much more stable and usable in day to day. It takes a bit long to set up to my liking but once that's sorted, Poco F5 provides much better experience UI wise compared to Xperia 5V (other than lacking microSD card),! Yes, Poco's camera isn't that good, but guess what I can take extremely clear photos of documents and receipts in one go which is impossible on Sony, saves me from using a dedicated scanner. Also, for some reason Sony takes ages to focus especially in low light, even Poco F5 doesn't take that long.

                              3. Waterproofing and build quality is worse than before. Not sure if 1VI improved anything.

                              4. No quickcharge, which means it takes ages to charge unless you use power delivery.

                              Overall, its quite disappointing to say UI wise Xperia does such a poor job against HyperOS. Motorola on the other hand has a stock like UI but it fares way better.

                                        Bravosixgoingdark, 11 hours agoSony's side sense can be set that sliding the edge of ... moreOf course it works, you can double tap to take screenshot, you can slide up to take screenshot or you can slide down to take screenshot. The best part it's a one hand gesture, you don't need to use two hands. But you also don't need to use two hands even if you want to take a screen shot by holding down power button + volume down cause Sony has put them close to each other and Sony phones are narrow enough so you could do it with a hand you are holding your phone with.

                                        But you are replying to people who have never used new gen Xperia devices, but they are first to tell you "fun facts" which are not facts at all but inaccurate nonsense. Fun fact is that he also considers 3 finger tap and hold as some sort of a shortcut when in reality that's a two hand gesture as no way you can hold 3 fingers on of the same palm you are holding your phone with. Stock Android screenshot action where you hold volume down and power button actually makes more sense than 3 finger tap and hold and in Sony's case it's a one hand gesture.
