Moto G56 specs leak along with an official-looking render

06 May 2025
It brings some decent improvements compared to its predecessor.

Sort by:

No, it will not be a decent phone.
You can buy a Xiaomi Poco X7 Pro 5G even cheaper,
with significantly better parameters and features,
with a way better processor
and significantly better support, too.
Motorola's notoriously bad update policy is another story.

benchmark score is almost same, g55/7025

On the proviso that people steer clear of the 4gb ram version, and if the price is similar to it's predecessor, then this will be quite a decent device.

It has an almost insignificant bump in battery, a bigger display and extra protections, but G75 is still far better than this.

I agree completely, and it's unacceptable at this point. But I have the g55 (8GB RAM) with two years of OS updates and I'm slightly optimistic (but not too much) that they will extend it one more year (up to A17) just like they did with moto g84, given that A16 is a minor update

What are Motorola doing? I see these specs and then read that the G86 will be followed by a G96? The model numbers are getting too numerous.

So a good sensor finally but they had to ruin it for me by making the screen bigger 🤦🏻‍♂️ ffs

Has the potential to become the cheapest brand new water resistant phone. (taking the crown away from Moto G75 & Galaxy A26)

Screen is similar to Moto G35! (It's good)
But NO HDR certification (unlike G35) But who cares, it turned out to be too gimmicky on an LCD due to low contrast, according to reviews. "it ain't real HDR" they said.

(I appreciate the effort, Motorola. It's always good to see the industry pushing the limits of LCD. Which I like personally for it's truly flicker-free DC dimming)

LGs, 06 May 2025no ois? whyyCheap phone - that's why!

Support ends with Android 16, for the 4GB version (who buys sth like that into 2025?! Crazy anyway) and the 8GB/256GB version would get 4 years of security fixes - but Android 17 is the last one for this phone. And Android 16 is out way soon, like always, first on Google Pixel devices. Furtherway, the MediaTek SoC is not powerful enough, for this price class.

So clearly - it'sa no buy phone, OS updates are way too limited.

At the very least, they should have chosen the Dimensity 7050. 7060 seems weak
