Still as I've said it in my other comment as well, Samsung was and thus still is doing better than Sony when it comes to charging speeds.
"Samsung was better at charging speeds to begin with so them not upgrading just means they are still ahead (of Sony at least) when it comes to this. If one is after fast charging neither of them are the best option out there. "
"By the way, you actually said that Samsung is doing worse when you said that S25 Edge is more overpriced, so stop lying!"
That is a worse product than this, so of course they are doing worse with that, smaller battery, even slower charging speeds. That's not the company doing worse, Samsung is clearly far ahead as a whole than Sony, that's just this product being worse than Sony's newest device.

"I said the same about Sony as a whole as Samsung, neither of them have upgraded their batteries in the past years"
I didn't say that you didn't say the same. I said that you said that the other guy is doing same OR worse, don't you know what "or" means? Point is why say the same? Is this article Sony vs Samsung? Lol. Does bringing Samsung (or Google, or Apple, or any other company you want) invalidate the criticism? No! Look up whataboutism and learn why it's a logical fallacy. Trying to defend criticsm of a company by saying that another company is doing same is silly and I'll say that to anyone, not just you. Like someone said here "the amazing thing is you constantly criticise Samsung, yet as soon as we are talking about Sony you start using a draw with Samsung as a defense."
By the way, you actually said that Samsung is doing worse when you said that S25 Edge is more overpriced, so stop lying! Meanwhile, any conversant person knows that new lines of product are usually pricy at the beginning (e.g phones with curved screens). But you're not conversant, are you? 🤷🏼♂️

Cyberchum, 15 May 2025"actually great battery life" compared to the S25... moreThe OnePlus 13T/S is barely available anywhere, while the entire S25 series and this new Sony Xperia 1 VII is available almost everywhere. Sure, you know it very well, that I'm all for importing phones so talking about availability may not make sense from me.
The thing is tho, the OnePlus 13T/S will likely score and do way better than the base S25 in terms of battery life, I mean it needs to with how much bigger the battery is in it, but for compact phone lovers the S25 is still better. The OnePlus is taller, wider, thicker and ablut 20g heavier. Plus it lacks an ultrawide camera and wireless charging as well, makes up for the latter with faster wired charging, but the Galaxy is the more complete package.
".."what about that other guy, he has been doing that or worse". Scroll up and read your comments.."
Read my comments again, I said the same about Sony as a whole as Samsung, neither of them have upgraded their batteries in the past years, while others have. I even mentioned that Google has updated it. That's not a positive thing about either companies.

DarlingYext, 15 May 2025"By your logic, everyone that bought a compact phone, ... more"actually great battery life" compared to the S25+ or S25 ultra, and in line with your argument, its battery life is not great. You love to compare, but not when it matters, it seems. There's a context here, apply it. I'm pretty sure that if you were comparing the vanilla S25 to OnePlus 13T/S (assuming the latter scored ≥14:26H), you'd not have been so willing to call its battery life great, instead you'd be talking crap about it as you do virtually everything Samsung. You only called S25 great now because the narrative suits you. But just as S25 outscored some phones with both bigger batteries and footprint (the redmis, for example), you might end up seeing S25 Edge doing same, let's see the new web you'd weave.
Put words in your mouth? Nah! I ain't get time for that. You've quite literally been busy dragging Samsung into this article about Sony, defending criticism of the latter by saying "what about that other guy, he has been doing that or worse". Scroll up and read your comments instead of trying to lie your way out of it.

Oh, really? Care to explain why? The S25 being a compact phone has a fairly small battery yes, but it also has a small display and actually great battery life, there is nothing wrong with it. It's just you know clear as the day that the S25 Edge can't have the same good battery life as a compact phone, with a smaller battery and a bigger higher resolution display.
"False, that's exactly what you've been so busy doing here:"
Don't tryna put words in my mouth, I still think the Sony is overpriced, but even at a higher price than the S25 Edge, it's still less of a joke than that.
Anyways, you can't convince me about anything and will never be able to, and the same goes for me, I will never be able to convince you about anything. Difference being, I'm not trying to do so, but you are for some reason.

False, that's exactly what you've been so busy doing here: trying to defend Sony by pointing at Samsung and crying "what about that guy, he has been doing that or worse?"

Sure, and that somehow means that I can't compare them? I'm sorry but I can.
Does saying that that one is even more overpriced in any way or form invalidate people saying that Sony is overpriced?
Nope, and I wasn't even trying to say or achieve anything like that.
"Let's see if everyone will agree with you and not buy that thing with 3900mAh. 🤡"
Oh, I'm sure many will buy it and be happy with it for as long as the phone being unique and new lasts, after that they will feel like they should've just bought an S25+ or S25 Ultra afterall.
Battery, software and the SoC are the things that make a device run, none of which can be bad otherwise the whole thing becomes bad. What good is the S25 Edge with all of the actually great AI features it has, that great main camera and the top tier fast SoC, if you can't trust the battery life?
Please don't try to tell me that there are people that don't care about battery life but need flagship power. What's the point of all that power if you can only use it for a short time? It will have to be charged during the day at least once, and it only has slow 25W charging, so people will no doubt use it while it's charging, which is bad for the battery's health, that is already way too small to begin with.

"They were launched on the same they" both being launched on the same DAY changes nothing. What did you think that highlighting that would change? Phones targeting different niches could be launched same day, sorry!
"Since usually people call Sony phones overpriced, I just wanted to make a comparison between this and an even more overpriced device." Does saying that that one is even more overpriced in any way or form invalidate people saying that Sony is overpriced? Both statements can be true at the same time, so bringing that other one up changes nothing.
Does what Samsung did with their galaxy invalidate the person's assessment of this Sony xperia? What he said, was it about Sony or Samsung? Tu quoque. Whataboutism. Your sentiments blind you to flaws in your logic.
You didn't explicitly say that they're competitors, but you implicitly said that by attempting to justify one with the other.

I'm pretty sure that there are galaxy users who prefer phones with big displays, but don't like the associated weight, who wouldn't mind sacrificing some battery endurance to shave off some of that heft.
If there are people who prefer and buy compact flagship phones that traditionally come with less battery and are well-known for worse battery life, what in the world makes you think and actually went on to assert that there won't be people this phone is for? The brazen cockiness. The ignorance is loud!
