potato4k, 16 May 2025Can't blame Apple. Ever seen Califronia warning labels... moreNothing to do with warnings, it's the fact they have been forcing companies a % of every sale that happens on the companies platform and isn't fair practice and having danger warnings so that someone can use the companies payment option and making it look dangerous is illegal. (It's manipulation to keep people using apples platform so they make free money from others work, this isn't fair practice)
Having bleach and having a warning "do not drink" is a warning to say "if you do this, you can lose your life/serious health issues for life", very VERY different

FatShady, 16 May 2025isn't this illegal, tho? they've been warned by t... moreOther way round I thought, Europe are saying "no, no more" which is why they keep being sued in europe/actual countries of Europe.
And yes it is, you can't offer a different payment option etc and then go "but it's dangerous too and we aren't going to help you". It's so they can keep developers under their thumb and make money doing nothing by just an app being on their store. Like America though, get away with whatever they want and it needs to change.

From eating detergent, to the recent trend of shorting USB ports, it's endless. And Apple will be sued. It's not if, but when.

Can't blame Apple. Ever seen Califronia warning labels on everything? It's a safeguard against lawsuits.
Consumers wouldn't know any better. When a 3rd party payment have a data leak, they would blame and sue Apple as from their perspective, they did their transactions from their iPhone.
Allowing 3rd party payment is also good news for Elon Musk, as now he can leverage X/Twitter into the payment service like Paypal he had dreamt of.

This isn't going to work well, and I don't think this is allowed for them. They are basically making every app which isn't using their payment option look like a dangerous app, thus potentially ruining the app's image for no real reason.

Both EU and Apple are corrupt.
What's amazing is the corruptors always gets away with it, and people forget about it.
