Xiaomi 15S Pro shows up in Geekbench results with surprisingly competitive Xring O1

19 May 2025
Xiaomi's first in-house chipset will give the Snapdragon 8 Elite and Dimensity 9400 a run for their money, if these results are legitimate.

Zuzuz, 19 May 2025I think that from now on these chips will be available only... moreIf it still relies on TSMC, then it's not enough. It should be like Huawei which, despite being years behind in tech accdg to haters, is now being banned to be used globally by sore loser american officials.

so if the chips using 3nm is true, then most like from tsmc N3E

anyway benchmark dont mean much, benchmark is like peak-performance, rather than sustain performance, plus we dont know its power efficiency either
need to wait for better reveal and various test before say/claim its great soc

It use two A925 cores, that's not realistic especially using at phone, A925 at peak use 7W, having two of them means over 10W just 2 cores, those cores are just there to increase benchmark score.

            What modem is this using?

For a second attempt at making an SoC by Xiaomi, it's impressive. I can't wait to buy the 15S Pro to test this out, hopefully it wouldn't overheat as much as the regular 15 Pro I had - that is my main concern about this SoC

I think that from now on these chips will be available only for Chinese market to get rid of he american chips which have backdoors. Google's services are out also. Huawei will replace windows.

rizki1, 19 May 2025now it's getting more impressive.. imagine later they ... moreI wonder the efficiency ! :)

Anonymous, 19 May 2025Still slower than the all mighty Apple A18 Pro! 🤣"Android was built to run Java applications across any processor - X86, ARM, MIPS, due to decisions made on the early days of Android's development. Android first did this via a virtual-machine (Dalvik), which is like a virtual computer layer between the actual hardware and the software (Java software in Android's case).

Lots of memory was needed to manage this virtual machine and store both the Java byte-code and the processor machine-code as well as store the system needed for translating the Java byte-code into your device's processor machine-code. These days Android uses a Runtime called ART for interpreting (and compiling!) apps - which still needs to sit in a chunk of memory, but doesn't consume nearly as much RAM as the old Dalvik VM did.

Android was also designed to be a multi-tasking platform with background services, so in the early days extra memory was needed for this (but it's less relevant now with iOS having background-tasks).

Android is also big on the garbage-collected memory model - where apps use all the RAM they want and the OS will later free unused memory at a convenient time (when the user isn't looking at the screen is the best time to do this!)"

Basically no, no it isn't, just iOS and it's custom SoCs using now ARM, are specially designed to be more efficient, nothing more. It's like putting a 1,000 BHP engine in a RWD car with traction off Vs a 600BHP engine in an AWD car with launch control.

                    You're welcome 👍

Im confused, it's said it was slower than the 8 elite but the screen grab shows it's higher on geekbench, where's the 9400 numbers too?

thats really good specially processors these days are getting more expensive, and this thing can make xiaomi put more money on software optimizing, which will overall improve xiaomi's phones

MrSTTEK, 19 May 2025Tensor's problem was never battery size.Agreed but if the battery size was equal then maybe we could see how well it stacks up. But most of the competition have bigger batteries. So it's being kicked while its down.
