The point is not ahead/behind, but the position that Xiaomi put for the particular product.
For example, the competitor that brand start with "S" have bad chip, but always claim it's "as good as", and send that bad chip to region that less understand the different.
So,
If xiaomi be honest up front,
The customer will be happy and have the ability/option to pick whichever they think best for them.

Anonymous, 12 hours agoStill slower than the all mighty Apple A18 Pro! 🤣The A18 Pro is a solid chip, there's no denying that.
But it was specifically tailored to work with a small handful of devices on a completely different OS.
Whereas this will likely be used for a far wider range of devices, should it succeed, and hopefully it does.
So this is a TERRIBLE take to have.
It's Apple fanboys like yourself that make the rest of us users look bad.

I'll keep in mind that the pros of getting a new chipset from xiaomi is to make the optimization better on its phones especially the battery life and sustained performance (although the battery life becomes a problem beacuse of hyperos), or it'll be like a rebranded dimensity 9400

Anonymous, 12 hours agoStill slower than the all mighty Apple A18 Pro! 🤣Ah yes, lets compare a chip that runs an entirely separate, completely different OS, to one that will likely be covering a far wider range of devices as well as.. y'know, running an entirely different OS.
The A18 Pro is solid, no denying that, but it was specifically tailored for a very small number of devices in comparison.
It's Apple fanboys like yourself that give the rest of us users a bad name lmao.

Interesting, hella interesting. Even more, the inmortalis GPU made me think... what if is not 1 chip but in fact 2 chips Xiaomi made? The other one is real too.
If that so... maybe the other one might end powering along the big one the Xiaomi 15T line globally?

x925*2 at 3.9ghz
x725*4 at high frequency
X725*2 at low frequency
X520*2
G925*16 (MTK D9400's GPU is G925*12)
It's something overkilled for phone. More suitable for pad

I'm not going to lie, the news about this chip is the most exciting thing I've seen on this site in a while. Gotta give Xiaomi props for trying to shake things up. I just hope it succeeds.

A new processor option is always good for consumers and the competition in general
and it's an added layer of security for the Chinese industry.
it's quite impressive if it comes with a performance close to the Dimensity 9400 and 8 Elite
Xiaomi's intention is not to sell the same amount of Qualcomm or MTK processors, but rather to be less dependent on these brands and have other options
I hope the US doesn't try to do to Xiaomi what it did to Huawei... they're good at sabotaging those who are ahead of them.

now it's getting more impressive.. imagine later they will make it for their cheaper phone, it could be a more competitive phone and the battery life would be better too.
