Please also note that on-screen benchmarks are very misleading because of the low resolution (by 2013 standards) of the iPhone. The 1080p phones are pushing 3 times more pixels then the iPhone! If the iPhone had to push the same number of pixels, it would be much slower then other flagship phones.

Do you know what is the most important part of any smart phones is? No. It's not the CPU nor the GPU. It's the screen. Apple has stuck with the same crappy small screen for 4 years now! When you have more complex media to consume, a larger, wider screen is needed.
When I had my iPhone 4, I envied at the people using 4.5-5" screen phones. But Android was still crap back then. I held on to my 4 for 2.5 years. Then Jelly Bean came and it just blew me away. Got me a Nexus 4 and I can't ever go back.
I will be getting the G2 later on because of the awesome display. Not even apple fanboys can say it is bad. I may have consider the note 3 if it had an LCD but Samsuck stuck with the inferior AMOLED and I can't stand its inaccurate color reproduction.

Apple has Pa Semi that put all the soc's compartments together. A7,Rockchip etc..are basically modified Cortex cores. SAMSUNG INSIDE.

I was not commenting, but just qu... moreYOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT LOL. READ AND STFU :
There are two basic types of licenses ARM will bestow upon its partners: processor and architecture. The former involves implementing an ARM designed CPU core, while the latter is the creation of an ARM ISA (Instruction Set Architecture) compatible CPU core.
NVIDIA and Samsung, up to this point, have gone the processor license route. They take ARM designed cores (e.g. Cortex A9, Cortex A15, Cortex A7) and integrate them into custom SoCs. In NVIDIA’s case the CPU cores are paired with NVIDIA’s own GPU, while Samsung licenses GPU designs from ARM and Imagination Technologies. Apple previously leveraged its ARM processor license as well. Until last year’s A6 SoC, all Apple SoCs leveraged CPU cores designed by and licensed from ARM.

[deleted post]They're custom designed cores, *based on* ARM's designs.. Samsung has always used ARM's core designs. The last 2 types of cores Apple has used were based on ARM's designs.. that's a difference.. Read the Anandtech iPhone 5S review for more details.

In layman's terms, this means faster access to memory..
