I had lg optimus g, releases nov 2012 until now oct 2013 no updates. i had to sell my phone and wait for new upcoming devices. im never gona buy lg phones even this nexus. id rather buy samsung atleast they have software updates and lots of dev support and custom roms.

Looking great. First nexus I will be owning. DDR2 ram is a bit disappointing but can't win everything.
Not hugely fussed about the SD card thing. We all knew that was going to happen. And Going from a Note 16gb with a 32gb card which I only used about 10 gb total, its note really going to be an issue.
And yeah I was wanting the battery to be bigger but then I thought about it. A note has a 2500mah battery. Always get a day out of it. Nexus has a slightly smaller battery but with a far more efficient processor, far more efficient screen and RAM. I'm sure the battery will last longer and from what I have heard, 4.4 will have some power management improvements too.

I have a Galaxy S4 Active with a 64gb micro SD card. It's hard for me to decide if the Nexus 5 is a downgrade or side grade, or upgrade.
On one hand, I have plenty of storage space via micro SD slot, removable battery that's 300mah larger, and water resistance.
On the other hand, the Nexus 5 has a Snapdragon 800, 8mp OIS camera, probably a nicer LCD screen, and guaranteed updates from Google.
Why can't I have both!??!

Wow after reading these comments on how all these people thinks LG controls the updates, it's pathetic that you people even are on here or even have a cell phone. If you know ANYTHING, LG DOES NOT control the updates for the Nexus phones, just like Google controls all updates for the Nexus 7/10 tablets, they are OTA directly from Google. So get your facts straight before you come on here and post any comments.

The specs are so much like Nexus 4. Not worth the upgrade just like if you have an iPhone 5 or Galaxy Note 2.
We have to wait another year for a big upgrade to come.

Good to know, the battery kills it for me, we now expect 3000+ mAh, unless they have invented some miraculous technology to prolong battery life in the phone.

Or better yet, get a cheap phone circa 1990 from Ebay.

I'm not getting a Nexus unless they provide a card slot. Thanks to Anonymous that I suddenly recalled how difficult it will be for me to transfer data between my phone an PC without a card.
Nexus ? No thanks, I'll stick to Samsung(unfortunately)

guys 32gb will have less internal storage...
only around 26gb available..
but atleast we get 32gb option as compared to previous generation models
