You only know less than half the story then. It's not just the sensor size that matters it's the lens, lens elements, aperture, software, Image compression algorithms. Not just sensor size.

The sensor size alone is 10.67mm on the Pureview 808 (compared with the whole camera module here), so don't expect anything ground-breaking folks. Another samsung marketing gimmick

Can't wait it get release and use in next flagship S 5 and Note 4. :)
Samsung Camera always awesome and I am pretty sure once this release, it get even better.
Current Note 3 & previous S4 is a proof as even without OIS and great light source at night, it perform extremely well. Awesome camera! Don't forget the GEAR which only 1.9MP but the output is crazy speechless!
For those hatter, stop feel soul if your current phone camera not that great!
Sony this year only one can consider great camera - Xperia Z1, the rest is so so.
Nokia wise, even their Nokia Lumia 1020 still facing huge white balance issue, all photos is way too yellowish and not natural. No doubt the output is sharp and clear but the white balance is fail. Also the macro mode in 1020 is damn fail, after I try, I speechless how could it only can get such distance only where all phones, yes all phones can get much closer distance than it.
HTC wise, never great in camera, even the so talk about HTC One is big failure.

Samsung must focus more on design and build quality rather than adding stupid MP's, RAM and cores because they already dominate it.

Anonymous, 07 Oct 2013Let's hope the s5 features the 16mp ois rather then the age... moreand what good would 16mp sensor do if the pixels are not large enough? i'd even pick 13mp with 1/2.5" sensor size over that sony 1/2.3" sensor - yes, smaller sensor but larger pixel.

I'm not a photographer so I don't mind having a 8mp camera as long as it can take good and clear pictures, u and nokia can go to hell with the good camera, what else can nokia lumia do for me aside from that.
