Nokia should provide support for the symbian mobiles as the majority of the nokia's mobile are symbian based. May be they can unlock the bootloader.

Anonymous, 09 Oct 2013LOL - You are so wrong and then you try to dance around you... moreInstall Amber update which brings FM radio support and quit whining http://conversations.nokia.com/2013/08/30/lumia-amber-your-questions-answered/
As for 1080p resolution, pipe down for two weeks and wait for L1520 with 1080p screen.

The only reason to be sad is the official death of N9.

You're not worth going into the details on the remainder of your comment as you can't understand that I didn't say 1080p has anything to do with FM, but had to do with the OS not supporting the hardware (the same as it didn't support FM in the 820 prior to Amber update).

The no forward/backward buttons is a big FAIL on the part of Microsoft. Why build a crippled browser into a mobile phone platform? Do users on phones want to browse differently? Do users on phones who are accustomed to using IE on a PC want to browse differently? H-E-L-L no they don't.
Microsoft has been in the mobile OS market since when? 2007? Before Android anyway. They should have this stuff down by now.

AnonD-136500, 08 Oct 20131st of all huawei and zte weren't major players in d tech w... moreYes that is true, Huawei was initially not a major player in the smartphone business (I won't say they are major even now, although they are growing fast), but they are HUGELY successful in other areas of telecommunication equipment. They did not need an instant hit in the smartphone arena, and could afford to bleed funds while building a user base and gaining experience. Nokia on the other hand was in dire straits in 2010 when the MS deal was made. I believe that is why they chose WP. It might not have been the most advanced OS at the time, but what choice did they really have? MS was willing to inject big dollars, but not for free of course. Google was not willing to back Nokia up with huge capital if they went Android (probably because they already had their eyes set on Motorola). All these factors are important in running a huge company such as Nokia. From our point of view, we just want Android on Nokia, but we forget that a whole lot goes into running a company. You can be sure that if it was a really viable option at the time, Nokia would have gone the Android way. The fact that they did not should clearly indicate that there were other factors at play. Afterall, everyone wants to win, and you would not make a choice that would destroy your company would you? Don't forget that the shareholders have far more at stake than consumers that can change phone brands at a moment's notice...

AnonD-59645, 08 Oct 2013"1. In the case of the Lumia's, no FM was due to WP8 n... moreI don't know what are you trying to prove...
but in my case i currently own a Lumia 520 and an Old Nokia 3110 classic S40 phone. Offcourse its not comparable devices in terms of hardware or software but
with S40 i can download email attachments despite of file types
i can extract zip or rar files ( Thanks to BlueFTP )
i can upload files or images to Facebook directly
i can set custom alert sounds
i can use custom sound profiles
i can send or receive any files via Bluetooth
i can use it as a modem in computer
i can backup all my settings and data to my computer
i can manage my files and organize the files
music equaliser, custom themes, call duration, sms to multiple receivers, fully functional call and sms log, fully functional and easy to use organiser, better calendar application, call recording, self timer in camera, image slide show etc
and offcourse better battery backup and Really hard to Destroy ;)
But in Lumia
i can't upload any files with default browser, i can only download images and document files. No backward and forward buttons, no download manager, no password manager, no webkit support. There is no alternatives like Firefox or opera, UC suffering from Memory overflow and its hangs with Facebook
no call recording
Bluetooth file sending restrictions
i don't know where is my Bluetooth received files are going if its an unsupported file type, same happens with downloaded zip files in internet Explorer.
no orientation lock
no true multitasking, every time resuming happens, sometimes app crashes and leads to entire phone hang and restart
no custom alert tones, no sound profiles
organiser and calendar apps are not fully functional
eg: you can't set certain day intervals for a task
Nokia phones are known for camera but still there is no self timer in any of the official camara apps. Why???
call log is incomplete, eg: not showing call duration
no direct email attachments
absence of a video player like mxplayer coz of api restrictions.
still i am loving My nearly 6 year old S40 phone more than my Lumia, coz it act as a life saver when Windows phone fails in every real life situations...

Anonymous, 08 Oct 2013It's quite evident from your comment you don't own a Lumia ... more"1. In the case of the Lumia's, no FM was due to WP8 not supporting it. With the Amber update last month, my Wife's 820 now gets FM radio because the radio is now supported. You search that. While you're at it, search the limitation of WP8 not supporting 1080p."
The only Lumia without an FM radio is L620: It has none due to intentional hadrware ommission. Same as with FM transmitter, it can be easily put in. But they aren't gonna do that, same as other phone manufacturers.
Kindly explain how does 1080p support relates to FM transmitter?
"2. WP8 does not have ANY 3rd party file managers available nor does WP8. An example of the paid it creates, you can't touch any of the media files. Try saving an mp3 file from an email to your media library on your phone. Can't be done. You need to open your e-mail on a computer first, save the file there and then sync it to your media library on the phone."
http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/search?q=file+manager
I never received an mp3 file in an email, just docs, pdfs and jpegs/gifs. Never had problems with them.
I never said I owned a WP phone, I had one given by my company for business purposes.
Yet another liar and intentional misdirectioner.
