another nice mobile from Nokia.But as usual high price.Samsung & HTC offer better than nokia every time.

No one is likely to pay 700€ for this. The original asking price for this device was set correctly. Any higher and people will go for the E and N series in all likelyhood due to the comprehensive feature set they offer. People are unwilling to pay a premium for a touch screen device simply because it's 'touch screen'.

Actually this is the 3rd or 4th okia touch screen phone i can recall, the news is that is the first S60 touch, the others were S90, like the 7700 and the 7710 or the 6708.

and another thing!most of the nseries has wifi but their price is not that much!so it's a myth that wifi increases the cost of the phone by much!

well i love nokia and congrats to them that they finally brought it out!(though i was afaraid of another n96 story!)but still 700 euro and 900 bucks is way too much for this phone!
the price was the major attraction of the phone and if nokia fail to deliver on that end then it's a shame that the set wil dfall flat on its face just like n96!

and i agree with someone who said that nokia maybe isnt selling TUBE for this price
but the sellers were just waitin for an exelent phone over price it and make some extra cash
but until this phone's price come around at least 350 eur

This is crap! all stores are looking for huge profits from this phone. In conclusion..i don't think this model will sell very well at this price. over-over-over-rated !

Hi all,
I don't think we all should screaming over the high price. The high price at the launch is normal. There were somekind of elites that really happy to say "I have it first, you just follow me buying that phone, because you envy me". Well, I'm not that kind of person, but I have a friend who were like that.
Anyway, if you wait 2 weeks, the price usually went down around 10%, after 2-3 months after launching, the price will see the first dip. around 25%. After 5-6 months the price will be 'normal'. That is the time I would buy the phone. Because after 5-6 month, the price will only erode around 5%/quarter.
Anyway,
I'm really looking forward the E-series got the S60 release 5. But, in the mean time, problably around feb-march 2009 I would buy the E71.

Nokia doesn't consider the U.S. market very important, since it has the lowest market share (compared with Europe or Asia). That's why Nokia phones are launched lately in the U.S. I'm from Romania, and most Nokia phones are announced earlier than in the U.S. or other countries (5800 is an exception). But don't despair, U.S. citizens, take a look at Samsung or HTC (Touch Diamond and MAX 4G are exceptions), they prefer launching a lot of U.S.-exclusive phones.

I love Nokia and thinks it's the best. However, a price like this is just unbelievable even if the phone is one of the best ones out there.
