gaz, 08 Oct 2013what part of snapdragon 800 do you not understand... btw... moreTry playing some heavy games if you are a mobile gamer, then you will get to know the difference between 1020 and octacore/Quad-core android phones. I am not critisizing Nokia phones but its just not the time to keep launching dual core phones as people's mind have changed over the time from dual core to Quad-core/Octa-core.

"The internal storage is reportedly 32GB, but there isn't going to be an expansion option." It's a pitty: 32GB is just not enough these days. If it has no micro SD expansionslot indeed, I will not buy one. If it does have one, I will buy it. Always the problem with Nokia: each "top"-model misses something.

There could be two reasons for calling lumia 1520 as Nokia bandit. One obvious one is that it will be expensive enough to rip the pocket. Second is that it might rob the competitors of the market share in highend phones.

Why not in 2011, maybe 2012 ? No, why ? Windows Phone! :E If nokia would choose Android and Symbian or Android and Maemo they can do whatever they wanted and when they want. Imagine the Nokia PV 808 in 2011/12 with Android/MeeGo or many cheap models with MeeGo. If nokia would promote MeeGo probably they will have more market share then Windows Phone have today ;) For sth like that Elop should go to jail or say tell the truth - im a trojan horse...or Nokia was sold in 2010.

But what would it take for it to have expandable memory. Come on Nokia! A phablet with such specs would require lots of space for media and other apps (HOPEFULLY).

I had killer specs on the android and still had lag and WP8 phone lower specs and 10x smoother than my android.
I get all the important app I need on this phone so for those that are worry about app WP8 has all the major apps.

Anonymous, 08 Oct 2013Great hardware. Terrible OS. Such a shame.Nokia Lumia 520 - dual core, 512mb ram = Runs like a quadcore Android flagship in UI and apps

Android Phones with - dual core , 512mb ram= Lags way too much in UI and simple tasks. what a shame.

Even old Lumias with 1ghz single core processor and 512 ram runs smoother than.

The abject irony of it all is that IF NOKIA were too have produced an ANDROID. NOKIA would have, just based on NOKIA's public cache' instantly catapulted themselves to at LEAST Samsung's place in the ANDROID world. If not more. I can't tell you how many Symbian based NOKIAs I've had. But with Microsoft being the persona non-grata that they are, I'll vote with my pocket for LG, HTC, heck even Samsung. NOKIA, you keep missing out. It'd be interesting if the spin-off of Microsoft's buying NOKIA went and did the smart thing. Rather than fighting upstream, Go with the flow and create a super sharp display. Make it SD expandable (a MUST ). A 3k+ mAh battery. 2g fast ddr. THOSE specs would grab attention. The rest following industry norms. YOU'LL GRAB MARKET SHARE!!! Everyone knows you obsess over build quality. Which is great. You just have the wrong OS!!! It's frustrating.

Guess, 08 Oct 2013Nokia brand name will disappear in Q1, 2014.... what a sham... moreI have a couple of cellphones, out of which i have an entry level lumia 520 and an entry level samsung galaxy. The lumia works beautifully with the same specs as the samsung. The build, the OS and the UI - everything feels so in sync. The galaxy on the other hand is horrible for an entry level phone in all the areas that the lumia shines. I gave up using the galaxy after a month.
