b4 they release the n97 they should iron out the damn bugs out of the n96 which was just released recently.the n96 was...is full of bugs and b4 nokia has released a proper patch+firmware they bring a newer model, nokia is starting to disappoint lately.especially the n96's released by "3" with their own "3" firmware in australia are full of bugs,2 of 3 persons returned their product within the first week.

                Hi pipl,

I had some models from HTC, actualy I'm a big fan from WM and touchscreen, I also had E65 before that, so symbian is familiar to me.Now, I have a brand new E90, and it's awsome, it's like holding a Maybach in your hand!Sure,it's not touch sensitive, it's has no fluid UI, but everything you need,it's just there, when you need it! It's a smart PC, and N97 offer all this stuff+touch+qwerty+ the stabile symbian OS,so...I think this will be my next phone.

When is it coming to argentina?? That phone is awesome, i want one, but for my country it will take a lot of time to release it and of course, more expensive, but well anyway, it would be nice to have it here.

vinesh , 10 Dec 2008it will be quarter 2 or 3 in 2009 by the time this phone co... moreApple is not the ultimate phone, it's stylihs,it's having a great UI, but the OS is having some limit's, symbian and WM are much better.
I think, that apple is a phone, for fun, but realy for working...I don't know.I tested the previous version of I-phone, for about 5 minutes, and in that time the phone freezed up for 4 times(it wasn't a chinese fake)!!

Actualy, there isn't an ultimate phone outhere, but thank god, there are so many,so we can choose and buy our favorites.

                      I didn't liked my E65,it wasn't the phone for me,but now, the E90 is perfect,and it's an amazing phone.And believe me,for that money I could buy an IP 3G,but I didnt!

Guys, I hear all your comments and for some reason I'm zombied by this phone. It reminds me of my brother when he talks of new games, you would swear he's whipped (or maybe he is). I am sooo getting this phone it hurts. If I could get is from other countries, I would cos it's usually cheaper than when it's released in South Africa. They will also offer you things you don't need just so it could be business usual for them.

Guys, any offerers abroad????I will pay for it (PLEASE).

One of my friend works for Nokia and he got a pre-released version of n97 for testing the softwre. I could not resist myself from take a close look on the phone. Everything is just amazing in the phone, except for 2 things.

First one is The phone is bulky. And not cool/fancy like the iPhone or nokia Tube. Due to the physical full keypad the thickness of the phone has increased and you will feel uncomfortable carrying it around in your shirt pocket. I dont like the mechanical system which brings the keypad out (Though it works smoothly). Instead they could provide a software keypad like iPhone or Nokia Tube.

The part which I disliked most is the screen sensitivity. Maybe it was a prototype hence things will improve in retail version. But the screen is not responsive enough. Just like a Tablet PC, you have to tap once to select a icon, and double tap to open it, but the taps has to be a bit harder (I was actually pressing the screen with finger rather then touching it.

The menus/shortcuts are well designed, but the scrollbars are not designed well. scrollbars are so small that you can may find it difficult to scroll without a stylus.

3D Bounce and A Racing game (I dont remember the name)was pre installed in the device. In the racing game you have to control the car by tilting the phone left and right. The tilt sensor is over sensitive. if you tilt the phone even a centimeter, the car crashes to the road side buildings. However I am not sure whether it's my poor gaming experience or it was really an Over sensitive tilt sensor which ruined the fun!

Good thing is that the phone charges via USB. Photos taken with the 5 Mpix camera looks fine in the awsom big screen, But could not get a chance to transfer the images to my laptop as I was not carrying it then, But since it's a carl zeiss, hope picture quality will be good as n95. Sound quality is also fine via external speakers. As the phone was given to my friend to test the softwares, some functionalities were disabled like GPS, WiFi etc. so could not test them.

Overall It a very good phone and definately will do well in market. But If the touch sensitivity is not improved in the final release, people may still want to stick to n95/n79/n82 etc models which offers similar functionalities today.
