this is just nothing more than a gimmick.... the current apps aren't even properly optimized to harness quad core CPUs , let alone 8 core ones...

WHY doesn't anyone bother to make battery technology better ???

AnonD-143115, 19 Oct 2013Samsung with a update can b made to run all cores. But we ... moreSamsung? really?

                    http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s4_and_note_3_wont_get_true_octacore_update-news-6908.php

In that article said this: "The reason quoted is power consumption and heat dissipation of 8 cores will be higher than 4 cores, which will affect the stability and reliability of the performance of the big.LITTLE chip."

You said: "We agreed with Samsung and decided we didn't need it"... yeah of course don't be jealous little sammy boy (get lost)

                      And what's next? 12 core...?

Stop putting useless power in phones!  A company shows how smart it is when it reinvents a new power source - not cpu power!

But we agreed with Samsung and decided we didn't need it.So that update never happened.

So Samsung was still the first with 8 cores.
                        Not the copy cat Chinese.

The MT6592 is on par with the Snapdragon 600, LTE-enabled and probably very cheap. No real need for better performance than this. Seems to be a really nice device!
