Acquired Beats Electronics by HTC was a huge mistake!

No SD slot, no removal battery, low battery capacity, wrong selected camera sensor4MP and overprice are the major causes the fall of HTC.

AnonD-170687, 21 Oct 2013U can clearly feel the difference between those 2 chipsets.... moreAgain that's just a rat-race for matching each other on specs... And wonder how many people are, as you put it, power users. And I clearly stated the difference is not felt in daily usage. Obviously it's gonna surface if you stress the innards to the max on that full hd resolution. With the ample 2gb ram, the One rides everything you throw at it.

How can HTC phones sell well while their updates are always slow or non-existent. I don't know what HTC's business model is? Dropping the existing customers while chasing up the current Iphone/Samsung users?

funny, 21 Oct 2013funny reading all these coments because its obvious you guy... more+1 to you! Good to hear someone speaking sense! I wonder if any iPhone ever had removable battery or an SD card slot, but they sell millions anyways. HTC's marketing is POOR, they seem to believe phones somehow miraculously sell themselves. No matter how awesome your product is, it would not move if no one knows about it. The vast majority of the market does not even know what gsmarena is, let alone phone specs, Snapdragon what??? who cares? (apart from those on gsmarena and similar forums) What's the processor in the iPhone 5s again? I don't even know! They should learn marketing from Samsung. It's not enough to develop a fantastic product alone, you must put it in front of people all day everyday, everywhere! Anyone seen Samsung's advert with Lionel Messi? That's a company that understands how critical marketing is!... Where is the HTC equivalent btw?

AnonD-4305, 21 Oct 2013FFS HTC, its not product development, The HTC one is a beau... moreIts not just about marketing. Well apple and samsung has the luxury to market their stuff because they have the money to do it. Even if htc markets their stuff correctly, they wouldnt sell if they continue to fail on delivering what people likes and needs. Look at hd2, desire, did they market it? No! But many liked it because they were the best in their times. Its not just marketing, its all about delivering premium hardware with good software, battery amd specs that people like and need.

RoverX, 21 Oct 2013Very true. In real world, whether you are using a phone run... moreU can clearly feel the difference between those 2 chipsets. Ur just an average user but for power users, we feel the difference. And even if not, why would u put an older less efficient chipset when theres a better new one. U would clearly lose the fight and thats what htc did.

funny, 21 Oct 2013funny reading all these coments because its obvious you guy... moreReally... Well i've used a lot of htc handsets. In fact i only use htc because im very comfortable with it and i dont like using cases. I wanna feel the phone by hand. I had desire, sensation, sensation xe and now butterfly. I was supposed to buy one but chose not to because of lack of memory card. U know what, there are 2 types of fanboys. Close-minded ones that do not see the negatives and those that accept the negative things. Clearly u r the first one. If 32gb is enough for u then enjoy it. But there are those like me who likes to watch a lot of videos and keep lots of music.

Neb, 21 Oct 2013Funny, Totally agree with you. HTCOne phone is the bes... moreVery true. In real world, whether you are using a phone running Snapdragon 600 or 800 doesn't make the slightest difference, so there's no point trying to pose geeky using those terms again and again. If synthetic benchmark scores are anything to go by, the difference is of the order of milliseconds AND DOES NOT MATTER in day to day use. HTC has always been ahead of time (case in point the One S) and has made impeccable phones. It is now missing out on the vitals, the 4MP ultrapixel camera being the major criticism. Innovation takes time to get used to, and definitely not recommended when you're in a pink of health with a cut-throat competition around.

Sorry Peter, HTC fall has nothing to do with Marketing. Just failing to listed to what people like me want! Yes, we acknowledge the HTC one looks preety but is only skin deep as the day HTC start to copy the fruit with silly Non removable battery I just stop buying it. Hence I only buy Samsung thesedays s2, s3, S4 and Note 3 now; what good is hvaing a preety looking fone that runs out of juice when you needed it!

HTC "NEEDS" to be more creative to invent more handier software features in order to compete with Samsung air commands, air-view, multi-screens, s-pen, etc....

HTC hardware is already 100% good

finally, do not copy the bad stupid things from apple: no external memory card slot, no replacement on battery...BAD! BAD! BAD!

More than a slap-in-the-face to the industry experts who [virtually for free] turned HTC into a household name, the decision to hand million$ to celebrity hawkers signals the world HTC has chosen to risk squandering newly-scarce resources "selling sizzle instead of steak." Laying-off 20% of your employees to balance it is incredibly-poor timing. When Peter Chou's economic decisions are as counter-productive as Barack Obama's, isn't it time everyone knew that Harvard educations have been grossly-overrated for at least fifty years.
