Bricking is a risk, but not very comon if you properly follow instructiions. Also try to use trusted places like xda. Bricking is even a possibility through official update, though even more rare.
If you are interested in rooting and flashing just pace yourself, make sure you understand what you are doing, ALWAYS BACK UP DATA, make sure all drivers are insalled, do some homework, ask questions, try to find your answers before asking, and again..pace yourself and carefully study instructions.

yes ...u r rt . last week i mean October 25th i have flashed the unofficial firmware of jellybean 4.2.2 for Samsung s3 but unfortunately it was bricked. i paid extra money to repair... please don't flash any unofficial firmware till the official roll out....i am telling truly ...u believe or not...that's up to you... when i flashed 1st time it was nicely pretty good to see.. everything worked but network issue came out ...''network not registered'', network registered ..but Sim was not working... these kind of problems will be there so

Winner: HTC One. The Galaxy S4 is a tad louder, but the HTC One takes this one with well-positioned stereo speakers and far nicer sound in general.

Knox is not a feature but a hindrance.. funny how you advertise as a feature, same for samsung wallet.. google wallet is what we really need out of the box.
