      Running apps in a virtual machine is the wrong way to do it since it's like running an app in an emulator, this ART technique should have been done from the start.

Its an inprovement to the existing one...if OSs gets upgrade just because they suck then you can say every OS sucks coz every OS are upgraded by their respective company..

                            I can't recall all details, but wasn't it Dalvik one of the patents in dispute (with Oracle?). If so, additionally to the technical and performance advantages, Google would be getting rid of this old issue. Again, it might be resolved, but also this could be a trend and make Android "unsueable" (if such word exists). That would also be good news. Technology should be based on engineers, not lawers.

                                  After 6 years of ignoring, they finally started to change the way the crappy multitasking is any Android. Hopefully they take notes from BlackBerry/WebOS/Meego.
