So definitely sales not going as strong as Moto expected... This is what happens when you have a US-only device.

It's still a bit expensive, but I don't think it's fair to criticise this as a "mid-range" spec'd phone at flagship prices like people do.
Yes, the CPU is dual core, but the GPU (graphics) is more powerful, there's the extra core for "always on" voice processing, and in general when you look at the bench marks it has very varied results, on graphical benches it is one of the fastest phones out, in CPU benches it's in the middle of the pack, beaten by all S800 phones.
Everyone who uses this phone says it feels very smooth, very fast (the GPU grunt certainly throws Android around faster then midrange phones or older flagships), and feels very well built.

If they were available here in Australia, and if they were not too expensive (but I don't expect midrange prices either) then I would have bought one.

        it's still expensive when compared to S4 , One, Z1, Nexus 5...Etc
it's midrange specs don't worth more than $300

Lol, at 549 you can buy Nexus 5, G2, S4 and so many better phones, Motorola is already struggling to sell phones, and this pricing is not going to help in anyway. Best of luck.
