AnonD-80553, 05 Dec 20132K and most likely pentile, Hah!
This makes it about th... morepersonnaly, i don't care if i can afford it and if it looks great. Just like 1080p screens this year.
Keep complaining, and to manufacturers, keep bringing them on!
As for battery performance, it will come some day, for now new phones last as long as last year phones in main tasks, so no big deal. I still use my S4 2 days as i was doing with my S3 last year and S2 the year's before!

I have been using an xperia z and on day i bought a brand new galaxy s3 not s4. And believe me even samsungs last years flagship feels much better than sony current flagship (flagships). I dont know why sony uses those poor displays the only sony i have really loved was the xperia S the screen was great and overall the phone did really really well. But believe me, iphones and samsungs are the best phones out there thats why everyone buys them.
We can keep hating them but we cant deny that those phones are both great in their own way.

AnonD-195632, 05 Dec 2013I have a S4 and i don't believe that the new S5 will have a... moreExactly. OEMs are moving so fast towards screens, powerful processors and hardware features and are underestimating the importance of battery life. On my opinion they should figure out how to get any common smartphone last 2 days on moderate to heavy use. They should invest more on R&D on batteries. But again if they focus too much on one and forget the features people will stop buying new phones. They should find a middle ground. I feel like Samsung and many other OEMs are overestimating features adding things just for the sake of being "cool". Great everyday flexibility ( battery removable, memory card slot, better than average repairability ) ruined by terrible software and unnecessary features that work 1/4 of the time.Keep that great internals as always and work on software more.

2K and most likely pentile, Hah!
This makes it about the same sub pixel count as a 1080p RGB matrix (7 million vs 6 million). Only it will have smaller sub pixels with more space between each pixel, still making blurry lines.
1080p @ 5 and 5.2" is above and beyond retina. It's completely pointless at any device with a 6.9" screen or smaller. It will only waste battery and processing power.
Can samsung really only play on hyped up specifications?

Anonymous, 05 Dec 2013Samsung, have you ever think to replace those amoled screen... moreAmoled Burn? Have you actually owned any cellphone with an Amoled screen? I have, for the past 5 years and I still use all 3 different phones, none has any of the "burn" you mention. Unless you abuse having the screen on for unnecesarily long times there will be no burn in.

Why would somebody need a 2k screen on a 5" phone? Why not add a better battery instead?
