If S5 is released in Jan can't have 64bit its still in development in ARM .It should be complete in Feb then its fab time.

AnonD-99764, 04 Dec 2013Who the hell needs 2K display on a 5-inch display? I can't ... moreYou are obviously blind then, go watch a 720p movie then a 1080p movie and if you don't see a difference then you need to get your eyes checked

Anonymous, 04 Dec 2013Probably because if they decide to produce their flagships ... moreI have a S4 and i don't believe that the new S5 will have an 2K resolution display. That doesn't make sense because the over 400ppi you can't notice the difference. So, 2k would only be draining battery a lot faster and making the phone slower. I bet it won't be a 2k.
Samsung, just focus on making touchwiz lighter, get a (even better) battery, tweak Android to make the phone even faster. Forget about smart scroll, air gestures... I don't use them.

Android Man, 04 Dec 2013oh looks like another phone that will over heat like S4 did... moreGalaxy S4 overheating? Have you ever used one? I have one and i never felt that it was hot. Unlike iphone 5 (and probably 5C and 5s) that in summer with 30ºC they could cook and egg. E saw an Iphone 5 shutting down due to overheating while taking a cofee last summer enjoying my S4 while my friend had to wait to his iphone cool down for several minutes. So you must be mistaken when talking about overheating.

F... moreProbably because if they decide to produce their flagships with "metal unibody design " and those specs they will have to deal with how to manage the heat on the phone because all know metal is a great heat conductor. 2k okay because we now have phones with 460 ppi but with the 2.4 clocked snapdragon there is going to be a lot of heat.Curious how it will turn up. There is a video on the net where an amateur clocks a HTC ONE at 3 ghz i think and the phone gets super hot after benchmarking test and reboots. But then again that was Snapdragon 600 . 800 seems more energy efficient. The future seems promising. What Samsung has to do in my opinion is remove air gestures, smartscroll etc Features like that who nobody uses and there just for the sake of hype and make touchwiz more close to Vanilla Android and then it would be a super beast of a phone including the rumored specs and then wuala .. a beast of a phone

Phones will soon have to be sold with their own briefcase to carry them around, theres no pockets big enough to fit them. .

I prefer metal because it just feels nice in the hand. Plastic would ok but not that one on glaxy! Nokia or htc have some nice plastic covers like htc one x+ but this glossY plastic on galaxy is just terrible. 2k is too much, no point in it. we will not see difderece in sharpnes. Fulld hd, increase brightness and thats it.

Not 4k or 2k. All I want from Samsung is more available RAM and ROM,bigger battery, brighter screen and customer service that's it.

2k, cos iPad has 2k res. Maybe Sammy is making a tablet which will come and go and no one will notice.
Either ways, except the S and Note line, most of it goes unnoticed.

2K display on a 5" screen is just another bad thing. First, the CPU and GPU will stress a lot, especially when playing HD games on this 2K resolution which will heat the phone up and drain the battery quite quickly if it's not powered by a monstrous battery of 10,000 mAh battery. 720p and 1080p displays are just enough for 5-6 inches screens.

That probably means that 1080p screens will become common in midrange phones and budget smartphones will get 720p, which is a good thing.

IMO 720p would be enough or 1080p tops, any higher would be for tablets. The funds and R&D time used for the increase in sharpness would be better placed for fixing bugs in the software(which always plague early adopters) and designing a new body/tech.

I can't see the point of having 2k resolution on my phone when I am reading just fine on my 720p s3 or 1080p desktop.
