If you have an iphone you wouldn't bother mentioning the missing copy/paste feature because all iphone users know that copy/paste will be included in the next 2.3 firmware update. Gotcha. Also, the iphone does multi-tasking on applications that make sense to have them open at the same time. Like music player and internet.

"Forget touch based OS, those are lame almost without physical keys. Touch phones are for geeks!!!"
      So if :
      Touch Phones = Geeks
      Nokia N97/5800 = Touch Phones
      Nokia = Geeks

You better keep those classics and stay with it for a VERY LONG, LONG TIME.. Because Nokia is on its way to Touch Interface.. You'll be eating your own words soon..

In... moreDidn't you just read his comment "if the iphone hadn't been introduced by apple NONE OF THIS DEVICES WOULD HAVE BEEN MADE"??? Do you understand what IT means?? He just said that NONE of the current smartphones today would have been made if not for the iPhone?? That is Ridiculous.. Apple has started a "trend" NOT "innovation".. Integration of Bluetooth, GPS, 3G, Accelerometer, WiFi, etc.. Now those ARE Innovations.. Plus, I was pointing out that MOST of the iPhones features are not "first" and it actually lacked some. What I like about it is the smoothness of the user Interface making use of your own fingers for interaction with the software beating Nokia on its User-Friendly throne. And speaking of OS, we're talking about Mobile Phones here, NOT Desktop PCs.. And yes, I know Apple has been way ahead in OS business than Microsoft.. So what's "irrelevant" with that?? And YES, he DID make some stupid claims. And I won't tolerate that.. FYI, my brother has an iPhone and I like it..

It multi-tasks like a dream. The OS is very slick and it has a proper keyboard. My iPhone is so underwhelming (all hype) I can not wait to get back to Palm-oh and it has copy+paste!

bedshaker, 13 Jan 2009Your comment was nothing more but a typical BIAS view from ... moreI beg to disagree with your attack on "doesn't matter". In fairness to him, he actually made more sense than you do, and he actually sounds smarter than you are. What he said made sense, and he made very good points. You did not =)

He was merely giving due credit to the iphone for raising the bar in smartphone production. There was nothing biased and stupid with that. And how does that make him no different from iphone haters? You are not making sense. He never said anything about the iphone being the first ever smartphone produced for you to say "In the first place, the iPhone's Mac OS X wouldn't have been created if it wasn't from the existing Smartphones in the market at the time.". That argument is irrelevant to what he said. Also, the creation of the Mac OSX was not inspired by any smartphone at all. Mac OSX is an OS for Mac computers, not phones. So again you are very wrong in saying that Mac OSX owes its creation to existing smartphones because it is far from that =) If you know how to read and comprehend, then you would know that there was nothing stupid with what he said.

I got the NOKIA 6220 CLASSIS here in the Philippines and it sure blows all competitors from mid level to smart phone level from all other phone companies (Samsung, Motorola, Sony Ericsson, LG etc. and even both the Iphone and Palm). In short it rocks BIG TIME!!!The best value for money!!! I rate the Nokia 6220 classic 9.5 out of 10. In comparison Nokia N82 for me is 9.8 and E71 9.7

                  N95 9.0
                  N85 9.7
                  N96 9.7

I don't know of latest samsung phones but I heard that they had also copied Symbian S60 3.2

I was a previous SE user and I must admit that I missed the simple functions SE A200 OS. But Symbian S60 3.2 has lots more features as well as the best and most number of CUSTOMIZATIONS!!!

My advice: "TRY IT FOR YOURSELVES" coz I know LOTS of people who complained with other brands mentioned...

                  Good job Nokia

It was very stupid. You're NO Different from Iphone-Haters.. In the first place, the iPhone's Mac OS X wouldn't have been created if it wasn't from the existing Smartphones in the market at the time. Did it ever came to your mind that the iPhone wasn't the first phone to have every-bit of its features?? Well, guess not 'coz you forgot to do your homework. Better research first before you make stupid claims. The iPhone is a wonderful piece of art and so are other Smartphones. They're all different in other way. Never think of it as "copies" because these companies are all aware of the copyrights. Honestly, the iPhone currently has the best OS for me but it lacked key features I look for a mobile. But the Palm Pre basically has more features than the iPhone. Oh, did I mention the WebOS rocks! I won't go in detail so let's just see when it comes out on the market.

All you iPhone haters out there say that you hate the iPhone because of that and that or that or the other and u've been waiting for an -such a stupid stereotype that i had to put it in brackets!!! Some of you found it either in htc (diamond or hd),The Storm, Xperia , G1 , 5800 Tube , Lg ,Samsung or whatever. A lot of you were dissapointed by these and are still waiting and hoping that the palm pre or other brand might to the trick. The VERY IMPORTANT thing that you ALL forget is this: if the iphone hadn't been introduced by apple NONE OF THIS DEVICES WOULD HAVE BEEN MADE BECAUSE ALL THESE PHONES ARE TRYING TO DO IS GRAB A SLICE OF THE iPhone's SUCCCES (i somewhat agree that they REINVENTED the phone -didn't make it perfect, though, as some of u complain - like the phones you use are perfect...-NOT!) Even in the Mp3 Market Sony and Samsung are trying to steal some of the Ipod Touches succes with their touch-based , wireless (BT or wi-fi) enabled devices. Thanks to the iPhone we now have all these jeez i've said it again. Now i've got some really really bad news for you iPhone haters out there. Get this stuck in your head, it might be usefull: NO MATTER WHAT ANY PHONE MANUFACTURER COMES UP WITH IT WILL NEVER (not in this lifetime for sure) "KILL" THE IPHONE! simply because behind the iPhone is a brand older , bigger , and stronger than most of them wich has a bunch of aces up it's sleeves and makes great , high quality products and great,RELIABLE software. I am not an iPhone/Apple fanboy i curently own NONE of their products - just wanted to clear up some things that all of your comments seem to avoid. I like the iPhone but i also like other phones like the Xperia, the 5310,the 5800 tube ,The STORM, some touch screen lg's + lg Kf510 are good phones in my eyes; and just like the iphone has it's advantages and drawbacks , these phones or Nokia or Sony-Ericsson phones have their own. However , NONE of them are as REVOLUTIONARY as the iphone was in 2007 and continues to be in 2009. And NONE of them were sold in bigger numbers and in such a short time... so that is why everybody tries to (another stereotype) or , better said : to copy the iPhone's success.
oh , and PS: THE IPHONE CAN MULTITASK !!! just think what it does when you are listening to music and sending an email. It is limited and the phone automaticaly closes most apps upon exit because apple doesn't want it to get choppier when u start up a bunch of apps.

NOW , ON TOPIC ! THE PALM PRE

Out of the whole touch-based phones bunch (with plastic qwerty or without). The Pre stands out - it is the first that brings some real innovation. Palm didn't just change the recipe , they added new ingredientes! The first innovation's that come up are: Gesture Area, Gesture-Based navigation, Synergy (the iPhone kinda has this with mobile me+could easily be added with a software update) Start-type search - only phones with physical keypad can have that-the G1 kinda has that too , if u start typing it performes a google search , they made it better by adding phone searches-good for them!

The thing is they did the whole webOS UI by stealing some of Apple's inovations.(so u guys are kinda funny when u hate the iphone but love this phone) Unless there is some kind of contract between Palm and Apple someone is gonna get sued ...
                                    1) contacts scrolling plus contact data look allmost identical ( they moved the photo from left to right and added synergy to it but the rest is Pure iPhone style) even copied the momentum ;))
                                    2) swiping through photos plus pinch-out, pinch-in to zoom in and out
(u can see that it takes a while to open the photo album , unlike the iPhone wich does it in a second max)
                                    3) when u press the center button and u get the cards -these are your opened apps- it kinda looks like safari with multiple pages opened , rearaging the pages/cards is also copied from safari. they just applied this to apps instead of webpages and added the swipe-up gesture to close the app. doesn't sound so genius now , huh ?
                                    4) they even were inspired by iPhone's design ! one button on the front (simple they say, steve jos said the same thing in 2007) volume up/down in the same place. "river stone"-like rounded back and the glossy black.

And in other news : 1) Palm has an ex-Apple employee. 2) Palm Pre will be available in the United States by the time Apple will bring the 3rd generation iPhone to light. Let's wait and see how big will his muscles be by that time ;)) 3) Palm Pre will probably be available in Europe in late 2009 or 2010.
