All this talk and hype about this phone and that phone is really meaningless in that all the cellphone makers engineers are striving to produce the perfect phone that has speed, looks and endurance as well as a marketable price factor, but there is always going to be a flaw in any and all cellphones due to the cost factor involved if we wanted to buy the "Perfect Phone" which will never be produced because after all it would put those companies that make them out of business in no time at all.

Part of the financial difficulty for HTC is that their phones are too good. I am on my third consecutive HTC, and every one has easily made it past my two year upgrade window. Their specs and features are always class leading when they release, so they remain relevant for a long time. Most of my friends with Samsung or Apple products have had to replace their phones at least once during their contract. I will by an M8 because I want to, but my evo lte is still in fantastic shape (never had a case) and runs great. It could easily last me another year.

In the end they don't have the marketing of their competitors and their loyal customers simply don't need to buy phones as often.

It is evident, from my experience, this thread, my research: HTC gets more life out of a smaller battery than samsung from a larger one - this is a fact. Also, HTC is somehow brilliant with optimization, I CANNOT believe that the One X, sexiest phone ever till One, with all the latest updates runs as if I installed more ram and overclocked the cpu/gpu, but the phone....runs COOLER, AND the battery last way longer, especially with Power Saver on, with which there is almost zero drainage on standby. Performance and display is not affected. Just brilliant - ever since I got my HTC Herald back in 2006 I think, paid $1200 in UK lol, brought it back to Canada, people were amazed. Today, same shize- HTC has long surpassed specs, it's a never ending quest for real sophistication, usability, and personalization balance. Today whoever has the most budget for media, wins. For every HTC ad there's 500 samsung then another 500 Apple ones. Microsoft is just confusing everyone with their confusing product and their enormous bundget. Damm, hang on HTC, I want those sweet sweet phones to keep coming. My one X is indestructible, never wore a case, never had an issue 2 years going. I can't part with it no matter how badly I want the One. Waiting for the microSD UK version or the M8. I think the real HTC planned and expected "leaks" will show up soon and we will know. And i'm telling you all, we will stare at it in awe, it's gonna implant the same words into our heads,"that is so sickkk!" I feel like real Xmas is coming withthis release, expect super sleek, mostly front glass, slightly curved corners paralel to glass outline, something that reminds of One S, cold, slim as hell, and of course : the reason to not have a completely flat back, due to either camera or argonomic aspect of the design, but it won't be flat. That's signature to HTC. I don't think there will be any plastic touching our palms. I think it will look sporty rather than glamoury or like "I am an electronic device" sony leaves you feeling. Dual tone for sure. I drooled over my cristal ball so now its broken but that's what I got out of it :-D cheers to all HTC supporters, the original smartphone pineers!

It's says on every review "take witha pinch of salt".... Don't worry about what is going to have this ram or this processor, you get a phone which is suited to your needs. HTC look better.... Sammy has better specs and advertising and iPhones are good all rounders. Me personally I like HTC, but when the specs and pictures are actually revealed then what's point in arguing about it....

with this superb benchmark score it will be clear the M8 will boost a snapdragon 805 with 3 gigs of RAM, with the snap 800 and 2 gb ram you simply cannot set scores like this.... So i don't believe this specs at all...

I've been using HTC phones for years!!
And I can tell you that I've NEVER EVER had a single problem! NONE at all!!!
HTC Desire - Perfect Phone! I still own it and it runs AWESOME!
HTC One X - Another Perfect Phone!! It has the best night and low light images!! Even in the darkest scenarios I have got amazing shots where my friends' samsung and even iPhone 5 have failed!! I am not exaggerating! And Beats Audio - Please do not even bother to compare it to any other phone! Its just leagues ahead of the crowd!
HTC One - Simply the best constructed phone EVER! I would agree that the camera is not stellar in the day time - but I'm pretty sure HTC is going to improve that in the next phone.
And please stop whining about 2GB or 3GB ram - my One X with 1 GB runs flawlessly! And even the Snapdragon 800 will be powerful enough for at least 2-3 years.

Check the latest leaked specs here
                        http://phandroid.com/2014/01/03/htc-m8-leak-one-plus-specs/

It says HTC might have used the newer 805 processor!
I'm not a fanboy of HTC - I'm only telling my personal experience - I'd go for HTC over sammy or fruity phones any day - Sony might be my second choice!

Also, Nexus 5 has better battery life than HTC One.

Lesotho, 03 Jan 2014I have been using HTC One for 11months it works seamlessly ... morestop talking rubbish, htc one had many flaws in its overall build, i work with phones for OVER 10 years mate, and having repaired MANY htc ones, iphones and samsung s4s, they are all prone to problems, i have had s4 with no issues yet i know many people with htc and iphones that have issues, this means nothing, all phones have issues, this is a manufacturing process issues which currently cannot be corrected. the point being that why if you are a struggling company why offer the same phone again, with a slight spec upgrade which is basically competing against this years snapdragon s800 phones, yet there are more bigger faster more powerful devices soon to hit the market, yep thats right, they are shooting themselves in the foot. htc sales were not even that great and so to offer almost the same device again can only serve to sink their ship even faster
