in the end of the day samsung have been announcing new phones by the month and that cant be good for bussiness when most people are on 2 year contracts

I doubt that even people who really like tech aren't going to buy every phone, tablet, gizmo. If OEMs keep it safe and release certain types of device (Samsung-qwerty touch, HTC-slide out qwerty touch, LG- touch only devices) they would make more money, since everyone has different needs. I personally would love a high end slide out qwerty device, yet most of my friends like the simple old Nokias and modern touch only LGs.

Gelvin good points and I agree with almost all of it.
Where I would take a slight issue on is the perception of 'outdated tech' when talking about smartphones, s4 will be technically relevant in 2015 even. Consumer space moves a lot slower than hardware space where there is a lot of innovation. I've just offloaded my S4 and will probably grab a second hand Note 2 in the interim.

It was bound to happen. They were selling too much phones with just "little" time-duration between a phone to phone. Look at the Galaxy S4 and S5's time duration. The different variants of S4 were still announced till August and may be even in September. Those who wished to buy an S4 would have bought it either in March or August. Therefore, I don't see how an S5 will be a highly-demanded phone by customers because people have "Just" bought an S4. There was again a Note 3 and now a much powerful S5.
I don't see how the demand will increase considering people who wanted to buy an S5 already have an S4. Because if they do, either they will pay an extra $800 for it off-contract or will buy another contract or will trade their S4(s) for S5. If the trading occurs, we will be witnessing a large number of S4's returning back to bases.
Now, people have understood the market mechanism. Their just bought technology will become outdated and most advanced technology will be released next day but the previous 'outdated' technology still supports everything therefore, no need to upgrade. Reason why I don't see a huge demand of S5.

By the way china mobile doesnt even sell iPhones yet... The sales starts next week
Well here is newest REAL data from china so no need to "hear" anything anymore
September iOS marketshare in china was 13.8% and end of november it was 17% didnt even need china mobile to gain lot of marketshare. Sametime android had 81.1% september and end of november down to 78.%
So you see new iPhones are selling very well in china.

Listen guys, this is all about Samsung.
Don't worry about how well Apple are doing with their iPhone. Even though they are doing extremely well.
But this news is about Samsung. Like it or not, the news coming is that Samsung ARE NOT doing as well as they want.
Why? That's what we should all be discussing.

ture if you look at apples groth YOY there handsets are the biggest sellers but even they are down YOY on there sales these companies samsung apple lg the lot really set such high demanding targets no wonder they report sales when they realise the next phone which really isnt a new phone ive work in the phone company for years phone have not change much in design or shape from iphone to samung to sony they keep there cases the same design it saves them money making up new cases everytime. is just all down to the UI weather your an android man or iOS or windows phone thats where it will be on people like apple becasue of the UI i think its far easier to use compaied to android but you can do so much more with android pretty much the phone compaines have us and were there little puppets

I thought apple is the one which has the exact same model starting from 3G and 3GS,4 and 4S and now 5 and 5S(not to mention iph4 ver and iph5 ver are very very similar looks, only difference is dual flash and single flash to know them?), may be for most apple fans which is obviously too much for their brains to handle the difference between S3 and S4 as they have been consuming the same thing for their whole life( Just a joke of the day)

Keep on dreaming dual. It is good if you love your apple no matter what but don't assume everyone is mindless like you. I can gurantee you that if I put apple logo on a stone I can ironically ship iphone users to another countries even without them knowing it :D Enjoy!
P.S-Just google their failures,don't just read macrumors,appleinsider,macdailynews and anadtech etc and getting wrong idea of anything,they just server as a mere brain washing site and bash all the apple competitors,make their fans happy for nothing.

I think its not because of big screens but all models look the same I have mistaken a Samsung galaxy win for an S4.and many people bought other models from Sony, HTC and others because S4 was no different from S3.

Every phone design of samsung feels same.. A year ago, I got a Galaxy S3 and it was good. But, I saw the same design (arguable) on every other phone of the company. Galaxy S4 may be having a quad core or a dozen more, but it doesn't appeal. I hate the iPhone for its price, but it beats everything in usability. There is a wide realization about it.... If I ever switch to Android, I might go for a phone from Sony for its camera...

This is what you get if you only sell huge sized flagship models, clearly we are now in situation where people who want those huge phones already have them and thats why galaxy s4 selling so badly while sametime Apple getting all those consumers who are sick of those mega sized phones and thats why apple selling more iPhones than ever before.
This doesnt promise very good future for S5 and it looks like samsung are in big trouble, it looks like sony finally understood this and trying to compete same markets with iPhone by doing smaller hi-end phone where the markets are lot bigger than those mega sized phones.
Lets see how long it takes samsung to do samekind of phone.
