Nokia E75 follows the leak maraton in hi-res photos

23 Jan, 2009
A bunch of nice new pics of the yet unannounced Nokia E75 leaked online. They reveal many details about the design, the full QWERTY keyboard, the back cover and camera. It seems quite close...

Guys the QWERTZ is not something to be afraid of.
It just the localization for some country.
Some country use a different position of the alphabet in the keyboard/thumboard.

    It's not typo.
    It's not error.

An e-series QWERTY with a minimum 2.8" screen is something I miss on an e71. It's time Nokia gave us an OLED screen and N-gage support to make e-series users happier.

Steve J, 25 Jan 2009This is a great idea by Nokia! Two keyboards gives the use... moreI agree thats its a great idea. Its good that the user now has an option to choose between a standard keypad and a QWERTY keypad. I just wish the phone had a second navigational keys and d-pad at the QWERTY keypad like the e90.
Another concern is the 5730xm. It seems to have identical features as e75 (plus some extra) yet its priced like the e63. Why release 5730xm when it might pose a threat to both phones?

This is a great idea by Nokia! Two keyboards gives the user incredible flexibility in text input. Note that the world speed record for texting was achieved with a hardware QWERTY. On-screen keyboards are simply not as fast or accurate. People can continue to fool themselves with touchscreens but they are merely cosmetic. If you need to achieve quick, professional work, hardware is the way to go!
On the negative side, the screen and resolution are too small. The businessman works with charts, tables and graphs and so resolution is important. Furthermore, the wider the screen, the lesser the need for irritating horizontal scrolling. Would it be too much to ask for a 3 inch (aspect ratio 16:9) screen coupled with an 800*450 resolution??

it would be nice if nokia came with a new interface from the 371 and if it had an oled sscreen that would be nice fo say i dunno 300-400

This phone looks really classy. Much better looks than 5730xm (which also looks good). I was about to get e51, but after this leak came out i've decided to wait a little longer. Im glad to have the option of both a standard numeric keypad n QWERTY keypad.
My only concern is the camera since this phone belongs to the e-series. Hope its outputs good image quality and VGA recording.

Well E71 has a 2.36" screen and it's a huge success. So it seems 2.4" is ok with a QWERTY too. I just wish the resolution would be higher, maybe like in Nokia 6260 (480x320). I think a standard keyboard is more productive in daily use than a touchscreen or a qwerty so it's good they left a standard keyboard ... and you have the option for QWERTY when you want to input a lot of text. It's a great concept ... yeah, a bigger screen would be nice, but where to fit a bigger screen and a standard E series keyboard? 2.4" is a decent compromise.
